Akali recently released in the League of Legends fighting game, 2XKO, and I wanted to do a celebratory piece! Her design's a little different from what you might remember from league, but I think they did a nice job, and I wanted to make a saucy piece.
Unfortunately this was a troubled piece for me that ended up taking almost twice as long as I wanted. It took me a very long time to iron out the gesture kinks, the background, and then at the last minute I found some official reference of what her tattoo looks like under her clothes and had to completely redo it. x_x
Part of the issue came in the not fully formed idea. I had this general gesture in mind of the reverse cowgirl, with vague influences from Dr.P's ninja doujins, imagining the sexy ninja lady appearing to some unsuspecting lucky bastard in the middle of the night. Thing is, if it's the middle of the night then you're not gonna see much of anything, and that's kind of a problem. I tried a few things and it just kept not working, until I revisited this stylized blood moon idea on a vaguely old timey Japanese house and it sorta clicked.
In the end I think it came out pretty cool, but yeah, right now I am kinda exhausted about the process.
The saucy version of this one is extra spicy!
