A sound design dream. The impressive Four Seas!
DESCRIPTION

Hello,

another new module and new video this week ... here's FOUR SEAS!

It's the first module from Ferry Island Modular, you may have seen it (or coverage of it) from Superbooth earlier in the year or more recently at Machina Bristronica. It's designed, engineered and manufactured in Finland - which I imagine is no small effort!

Having the chance to dive into Four Seas made me realise it's much more than I first thought it was. I liked the idea of spread voices with different pitches and wave shapes all from wavetables. But what I didn't realise, at least not as in depth as this goes, is how comprehensive all the oscillator modulation modes are. There's thru zero phase modulation (think Yamaha DX style digital FM), phase distortion based wave shaping, options to process external mono (or stereo) signals and an FSU mode that is truly a magical monster of digital destruction.

I always try to make videos that have widely applicable patches, so whether you want a Four Seas or not there's going to be plenty to take away from this. Whether it's layer sub bass patches, how things like phase modulation actually works, different types of oscillator sync and how to apply these things musically.

If you're reading this right as it posts, take this as 1 hour notice - grab a brew - to join un in the video premiere. Where you can hangout RIGHT HERE in the live chat as the video plays.

I'm excited to share this one and hope you like it too.

As always, see you in the Discord!! ... and the premiere live chat!
