I scripted BANG BANG within 24 hours of its release and finally got around to syncing all the cams.
Note: the :word:'s are discord emotes I didn't take out.
It's incredible how well IVE is doing compared to other girl groups in their era. They manage to stay mainstream while still introducing new elements into their tracks. In particular, they manage to put some western-cowboy notes into this one and it works surprisingly well. I was initially put off by it, but it blends together really nicely as the song goes on and after a few repeat listens.
IVE just sounds so conventionally good that they are always a safe bet when it comes to doing well commercially these days. This is in contrast to how aespa, LSF, BAEmon, and NMIXX sometimes try a bit too hard to innovate and end up sounding a little funny. I'm talking about the actual song here and not the visuals or fancams, so put down your pitchforks :dogshootgun:
I feel like this is partly the Big 4 trying to carve out new sounds, attract new audiences, or constantly surprise their existing audience. But sometimes maybe people just want something easy and even a little nostalgic given the current state of the world. Of course these releases are probably planned months in advance, so it's possible they just miss the cultural mood by the time they drop :chaewonhmmpout:

Yujin looks so damn good here and she just keeps getting better and better at eye-fucking the camera without overdoing it :ilost:
Wony of course looks good as always, but Liz and Rei are really growing on me :Jwaaaah: I feel like they are finally getting a bit more spotlight in these releases, or maybe they just turned up the "look at me" charisma enough to pull attention away from Yujin and Wony.
In this release Leeseo also kept her promise of being more of an adult this year :LeeseoHmm:
The verse goes hard, the chorus goes hard, the rap sections go hard :dance02:
This is definitely a script I’ll come back to when I want a challenge… or when I want to see more Yujin :yujinlookaway:
