Hey there! I hope you're having a good day today.As you can imagine, we started to work on a new chapter and I have enough to show what direction it is going. Besides the pictures, I want to talk a little bit about why we decided to take this step next. First off, I remade Kate's model. I tried to, as I always do, to preserve her persona but her old pose was just not working for me, hence I decided to give her a more drastic remake then the previous ones. Now- I know some of you won't be very happy that I'm remaking older things, but I think the change in my style is drastic enough to warrant at least the older character sprites to look the part. Otherwise, if I put the old Kate model next to a new character, for example Eleanor, Kate will look waaay out of place standing next to her and the scene will come down in quality drastically.
This also get's me to the point of direction for this update. It will focus on Kate and there will be new story parts. She is the first real playable story in the game's development and I made everything quickly and not very good, honestly. I wasn't even sure which direction to take with the game at that point. So now, I decided to give her new parts. The old story won't be completely scrapped but it will just be expanded upon and made deeper. We will be adding new game mechanics with her story so it will unlock a lot of future options for the game as well. I don't want to spoil too much but the the pacing will get much smoother and more engaging.
I just want to ask for understanding, because the game now has a major lack of quality in the beginning and we want to make much more even throughout. It will be worth playing through for new and old players.
I'm aware of all the things I promised with the orc girl and others don't worry. It will all come. There are many more things to talk about but I will talk about everything gradually. You are more then welcome to ask any questions in the comments!
