I will try to get the video done on these maybe this week, but time is limited. Both plate were subjected to an NIJ drop test, but plate #2 was dropped 4 times total. There is a laminating layer and there were no cracks I could hear.
The bad; An uber thin backer made from woven e-glass. We had failures to stop M2AP 3X at the correct NIJ spec velocity (no over velocity). I had to download it in 308 to 2,750. Other threats became an issue at their max respective velocities. 6.8x51mm, with the 113gr copper destroyed this plate.
Personally the LongFri/Botach Battle Steel level IV are a better buy at a few dollars more, or if you need to save the weight RMA's 1165 is mounds better than this or back to the tried and true RMA 1155. I would call this a real world threat plate; where as SBR and at range distance engagement with threats will likely get stopped, but you don't always get to know your adversaries barrel length... The one good thing about the backing material was the lack of backface on the threats it did stop.
