Hey everyone,
Last week was one of the good ones! I got a lot done and even managed to go beyond my usual daily targets for 3D work.
I've been a bit busy in real life, handling things for the company and myself, but it gave me a good excuse to get out of the house and clear my head. Coming back to the desk felt great, and I was ready to lock in.
Here are the current numbers:
Static renders: 617Animations: 6Story content: 12 scenes written, 9,592 words
As you can see, we’re now over 600 renders. I managed to create 225 since last week, which is a solid number considering I usually aim for 150 per week. Crossing the 200 weekly mark always feels great. The animation side is still a bit behind, but I plan to improve that soon.
Some of you might have noticed that halfway through Episode 3, I stopped doing POV renders unless it's a lewd animation. I actually really like POV shots because they add immersion, but I also feel they can slow the pacing down. I’ve been thinking about whether or not to bring them back for Season 2, and I think I will. I realized I sometimes over-render scenes just to avoid using POVs. So I’ll be adding them again, a few lines at a time, mainly to bring back those blinking animations I enjoy using.
Also, I don’t know if you’ve noticed this about me, but I can be pretty stubborn in my workflow. A few friends have been trying to get me to use Marvelous Designer, a tool that simulates clothing gravity for things like clothes on the floor or a character pulling fabric. I always said no, thinking it was overhyped, but I finally gave it a shot. And wow, now I can’t stop using it. Every scene I plan feels like a constant tug-of-war between my vision and the limits of the tools I use. But with this software, I’m finally starting to push those limits in a good direction. Huge thanks to Barrabass and Batman_sid for the nudge.
Even though I'm making good progress with the renders, I’m starting to catch up to the pre-written script I had stocked up. I’ve probably got enough dialogue left for 100 to 150 more renders, so I’ll likely be back to writing by the end of the week. I’m not too upset about it, but I’ve really enjoyed being able to just power through scene after scene.
That’s it for this week’s update. I’m heading back to work now. I’ve got some long scenes to pose with lots of characters in them.
Take care in the meantime,MisterMarvelous
