Morning everyone.
Fellas, I'm not gonna sugarcoat it, this wasn't a very productive week. Maybe the post-cutscene exhaustion caught up with me, but either way, the output just wasn't there. I'm not going to hide behind excuses, this one's on me.
The big scene I mentioned last time still isn't done, and it's shaping up to be a beast. The amount of flashbacks I planned for it requires so many different environments, it's going to hurt.
Anyway, let's talk numbers:
Static renders: 4,096
Animations: 171
Story content: 58 scenes written (60,654 words)
That's 91 more renders since last week. Not my proudest number.
I'll be away for the next five days handling IRL business, and honestly, I'm hoping the time away helps me reset for this final stretch. I'll use it to go over the script some more, fix grammar issues, rewrite a few lines of dialogue, and set up the Facegram DM conversations. That should put a big chunk of the postwork behind me.
On the bright side, I've created all the assets for the Law School - Season 2 Steam page, which will go live at the same time episode 5 releases. I'm very happy with how they look, and I hope that comes through on the store page.
I've also assembled and postworked the latest cutscene, with sound effects and captions. It's ready to ship. I was going to share a teaser, but it felt too spoiler-y. People would jump to conclusions, and I don't want to ruin the surprise.
So as much as I'd like to say "let's get back to hammering out 3D content," I'll have to be patient for a few days before I can lock in again. Realistically, I'm about 400 renders and 15 animations away from finishing this episode, which is around three weeks of work. So close yet so far, and I pray for my brain to wake up and unfog.
Anyway fellas, time for me to go try and be productive with what I've got. I'll still post a devlog next week to keep you updated, and who knows, maybe I'll pull off 100 renders over the weekend once I'm back.
Take care.
