Victoria sorts herself out as Sal finalizes his ice cream order in Dairy Princess's legendary tasting room. Meanwhile, the drones have taken an interest in the woman working the counter, perhaps sensing a deeper story behind all the tasty ice cream and fancy machines.
These three panel pages always seem like a good idea at the time, but I find that they're very finicky to do. On paper they should be easier, but every element that changes in one panel has to be just so in terms of scale, line weight, and shading to match the ones before and after. They're supposed to be a time saver, but I find they take just as long as a regular page to do. In this case, I felt the three panel layout was the best way to convey this scene: Victoria's struggle to regain her footing combined with the counter lady's provocative explanation of order options that Sal should probably know to begin with. Also: those coloured outlines I used for the unmentionables? Also a real pain.
