a day at the city center - sneak peek [& Dungeondraft Early Access content pack for Creative & Thorough GMs]
Heya everyone!I hope you are all doing well and will have a great start into this upcoming weekend!
I am so happy to be back at my graphics tablet and to be able to give you a little preview of the upcoming content pack today: With our "next day" we'll be hitting the town again!
But before I show you a first sketch of the map, here's a little preview of what I can share today as an Early Access Dungeon Draft pack with creative & thorough GMs.
For this one I focused on the modular roofs and new roof structures that I've actually been wanting to tackle for quite a while now. You may remember the modular roofs from the Back Alley Pack - these work in a very similar way, but are now colorable, giving you much more design freedom for your roofs:
The roof tiles come as 2 different variants - a plain textured one and one with square tiles as texture and both come as "normal" and "dirty" variants with many different roof structures to choose from. Here is the result from the quick showcase as seen in the GIF above (nothing fancy, was just supposed to give a quick intro into whats possible XD):
And here's a little overview of what else you can find in the current EA pack:
I still have a few Assets on my list that I didn't come around to yet that will get added next week. [This includes the wishes from the community map making contest (for example Cyborg Limbs, AV / Car Console and SWAT Truck), a Vault Door for the Bank, City Benches, DJ Equipment, City Plaza sculptures, ... - and I hope that I will be able to do some textures and wall(s) as well]
And once all assets as well as the Prefabs and modular rooms are finished I will update the Dungeondraft Pack / share the [THROROUGH] GM version before I go on to the maps...
.
As for the map:
There are so many ways to go about the "City Center" Theme. Originally I wanted to create a more suburban / rural city center, thinking it could be a great addition to the "Turtle Cove" Map series from the Suburbs pack - but in the end I decided that for this one I wanted it to feel more urban and as it could be part of a bigger city.
Here's the sketch from the Ground floor:
As of now it has a grid size of 96x63 and it includes (from top left) an apartment building, a cafè, a hotel, a small district police station, a bar, a bank (with a federal reserve of gold in the basement XD) and a nightclub. Idea is to have 4 level in total: a basement floor (including the bank vault, underground parking garages, basement for thr apartment building & a subway station), ground floor, one upper floor and the roofs - and hope that it will stay somewhat manageable this way.I haven't come around sketching out the other level yet, but hope this will give a little insight into the general concept.
.
Sadly, everything is still progressing much slower than I would like, as my arm starts to act up again quite quickly after my drawing sessions, but I am aiming for a mid-October release date for the complete pack. .
So, I hope I've been able to give you a brief overview of what's to come.
If you have any questions, ideas or suggestions, you are welcome to let me know.
Write it in the comments, send me a DM or bring it to the Discord Server :)

I wish you all a wonderful friday and upcoming weekend!Greetings from Ana
