I was a shameless bastard when I needed to be. In this Sanctuary, where everything was kill or be killed. I had zero choice but to hunt in the most efficient method possible. Especially when my targets were Super-tier creatures.
'Well shit... I didn't get the Pet Beast Soul that Han Sen got when he killed these lions.' I thought as I was washing the gore off my hands.
Unless I used all my strength and haki literally to infuse into my new Super Tier saber from the Sonic Tiger which did kill Han Sen. I literally couldn't break through the flesh of the Golden Lion Beast.
And even after she died... I wasn't going to do another 'Ant Queen' incident to get at her cub. I just manually cut her open and dealt with the cub in a humane and quick manner. While also grabbing both geno cores while doing so.
[Super Geno Point gained!] The system dinged again and I could feel it as I clenched my fist and the energy within my body roiled. I was hitting the limit the First Sanctuary put on people in the first Sanctuary.
"Fine... I get it. It's time for me to get moving." I said with a grin as several bones and ligaments in my body snapped and cracked like firecrackers as I shot up with a loud laugh.
With a flash, the Golden Lion Beast's 'Mane Aura' formed on me and I realized it was even better then the Ant Queen Aura. This one was just straight up. I gained a three times strength boost, a five hundred percent increase to my armor's defensive abilities. And an armor-shredding/penetrating power for melee attacks.
And this was an 'Aura' beast soul... Which meant that this fucking overpowered aura could be applied to my allies as well. And the Second Sanctuary wasn't going to be somewhere where I could run around as easily as I was now.
Then with a heavy grunt, I activated the Ant Queen Aura Beast Soul as well. And it felt like I thrown a heavy weighted blanket over myself. Not only that. But I could literally feel my energy tank draining at a stupid speed as well!
"Ok, so let's not try to use two Beast Soul Aura's at once until I get my Super body when I transfer to the Second Sanctuary." I said to myself as I quickly put away both Aura's as even with my S-class Geno martial art.
And despite having Super geno points and more than half of my Sacred Blood geno points filled out. I was still unable to run two aura's at the same time. Hell I don't think it was possible for people to do it normally to begin with.
But with my Super Geno Points filled out at 25 points now. With each Super geno point being worth what felt like 9 Sacred Blood points a pop. I was comically ahead of my peers in terms of strength at this point.
"Time to head on back at this point." I said before I summoned Woody out of the beast soul space inside of my soul.
And with the giant water buffalo I just rode back to the Black Steel Shelter through the night without any issue besides some stupid mutant tier bat's that 'tried' to attack me while I was asleep.
But my Observation Haki helped me pick up on the flying in the dark rat's. Actually, the flying bats swarm that attacked me was a perfect way to train my haki in the darkness. As it wasn't like they could actually break through my Sacred Blood-tier armor after all.
But besides those bat's attacking me with them also only dropping some crappy fangs as daggers. Nothing else really happened. So I was glad that this trip only lasted four days instead of the week if not a couple of weeks, I was actually prepared for.
The Black Steel Shelter was a flurry of activity as it was noon. The most busy time of the day for the shelter. The late sleepers who were out hunting to late the previous day were running around.
The early riser's were coming in from their short hunts in gathering simple Primitive or Ordinary geno points in simpler hunts.
But just as I passed through the large metal gate of the entryway into the shelter. A loud voice rang out. "Jake Bariss!"
Hearing my name being called out with force I looked over with a raised eyebrow only to see... 'Son of Heaven' the local young master who was standing with a posse behind him. In full armor and having his signature spear on his back.
A Sacred Blood Tier spear he was given as a coming-of-age gift from his powerful family back in reality.
Still I just gave the young master a blunt raised eyebrow as I then said VERY bluntly. "Son... What do you want?"
Several of his follower's made tsking noises and looked ready to throw hands to show face to their boss. But Son of Heaven merely raised up a hand to silence them.
Then, with a thin smile, Son of Heaven spoke clearly and firmly. "Jake Bariss, you are a talented man. I fully acknowledge you in that. But your talent and strength will only take you so far. Especially when the Qin family won't give you a high tier Geno martial art unless you marry into their family."
He then thumped his armored chest and said with a smirk. "But I, and my family, who runs the Starry Commerce Group which has trade lines across the Human Federation doesn't have such short-sighted ideals. Leave the Steel Legion Jake, and join my group to grow in strength!"
There was a pause as dozens of others... Including people very much inside of Qin Xuan's Steel Legion gave me very fucking pointed looks at how Son of Heaven was trying to so publicly poach talent from her.
I went to speak and just cut this off. As being a wishy-washy traitor wasn't a good look, regardless as he hadn't even offered anything real. But he held up that hand again and said with a proud smirk.
"Don't bother with morality and other societal bullshit, Jake. I saw you literally snap a girls neck with a punch in that arena during that tournament. I won't look at you as a traitor who abandoned Qin Xuan during a hunt or something. You are just an employee who hasn't even tasted 'real' benefits anyway, there is no shame in joining my much nicer ship."
And then his smirk became even more pointed as he said, in a tone as though it was natural. "Jake, I wont rush you... Think it over. If you join me, within twenty-four hours, you will have a new mansion with its own teleportation pad, you will have beautiful women serving you, you will have all the money you could want to spend. And... I will personally hand you a list of S-ranked Geno Martial Arts you can choose the very day you decide to join me."
Then he added casually. "Well, the first Geno Martial Art is free. The others will need to earn with company credits. But they will be heavily discounted for you of course."
My lips twitched, and I said helplessly. "Well, shit. The Steel Legion hasn't offered half of those benefits, haha!"
