I spent the next good while confirming what kind of military college I wanted to head to in the near future. And after a good while of searching. I basically picked out the one I wanted to join in either case.
Han Sen the would be protagonist of this universe went to the Blackhawk College which had a very strong base in two fields. Geno Martial Arts, and humanoid mechs that was working to be compatible with geno martial arts.
And that heavy focus on combat, and training gene warriors into their strongest possible forms along with strong connections with actual nobles who were at the front lines. Made me interested in that particular college.
As after all, I wasn't remotely interested in actually joining the Human Federation Reserves right now. I would just be fodder until I became a Demi-God and entered the fourth Sanctuary.
Right now I needed to find that Dongxuan Sutra that was in the Second Sanctuary for an 'SSS' tier geno martial art that was over powered as all hell. I didn't need to go to a college which focused on a certain element for geno arts. Or like a medical school.
My path was that of ultimate violence. Punching, cutting, and smashing things until they broke and everything went my way.
But with a college in mind... I locked onto the number for Han Sen's mother who was part of the Luo clan. As I had a feeling that she was the reason that other scary Luo clan member after the tournament even bothered to be the announcer.
"Hello Jake Bariss... Is there a reason you have called?" Luo Li, Han Sen's mother spoke in a quiet voice.
I opened my mouth. And then paused as I realized I was just going to tell her over the phone. 'Hey, I just killed the monster who killed and then brutally ate your son... Yeah that's all, uhhh so whatcha guy's doing for dinner? Ahhh ok yeah I will catcha guy's later or something.'
Yeah that will just go over so well I am sure.
So with a cough I said. "Hey I had some important news for you, and I was hoping I could swing by in a bit. Is it convienent for me to come over?"
There was a moment of silence over the line before Luo Li exhaled and said softer. "Yes, thats fine. I am free for the next three hours in fact."
I nodded and then said firmly. "Alright, I will be over in like half and hour. Please excuse me then."
And with that I hung up the phone. As even though from the battles with those Super tier beasts. I had a feeling my haki skills had grown a good deal. I needed to do things right.
One doesn't just deliver news of vengance for their dead son via a call. Let alone a text message after all. Yang Manli had gotten me into this trouble, and the least I could was solve this last bit of drama that Han Sen left behind in his death.
I got myself all dressed up and otherwise cleaned up and with my flush bank account I didn't balk at the cost of ordering a self flying speeder to come pick me up and would wait for me to leave.
Which allowed me to get over to Han Sen's old house and with only a couple moments of hesitation I knocked on the door along with pushing the door bell.
The door was then opened up by Han Yan the purple haired beauty who paused at seeing me. She stared at me for a long moment before she grimaced and then said with a weak smile.
"Ahh, I remember you Jake. I also saw you win the tournament. Come on in, mom is already waiting for you."
I merely nodded and followed her into the living room where Luo Li was sitting in the living room. And seeing me, she looked to her daughter and said. "Han Yan, please get our guest a drink."
Taking a seat across from Luo Li I patiently awaited for Han Yan to bring me a drink. And after taking a symbolic drink of the tea I was offered. I gave Han Yan a look before I said bluntly.
"I killed that Tiger who took the life of Han Sen."
The room went painfully quiet with Han Yan's face turning dark before she all but spat. "That's it? Did you come here for praise or something, my brother is-"
Luo Li cut her off with a soft but firm order. "Yan'er... Stop, I asked him specifically to do it."
Han Yan turned pale from her previous angry blush. But she visibly took a breath and said quietly. "I... I am sorry Jake. I just didn't expect you to bring him up like that."
And from the way her eye's were turning red. I knew she was just barely holding in some tears at the reminder of her brother's death.
The room went quiet for a moment before Luo Li exhaled heavily and then said quietly. "The beast, that tiger... Can I see it's Beast Soul?"
I raised an eyebrow at that request before I mentally shrugged and with a flicker the Sonic Tiger's Saber flashed into my hand with the ultra large saber lying in my hands that I then offered for the sight of the Luo clan woman.
There was a clear vindictive pleasure in the eye's of Luo Li who looked at the remains of the beast who clearly killed her son. And then she closed her eye's with a helpless chuckle escaping her.
"I knew it... I knew that some random Sacred Blood could not kill my son. It all makes sense now."
I went stock still as Luo Li gave me an introspective look before she said slowly. "Jake... What would it take for you to give that saber to my daughter for when she herself enter's the Sanctuary next year?"
My lips pinched as I didn't want to give my sword away to anyone right now. But seeing as it wasn't even available till next year anyway. I said thoughtfully. "This saber is... Special to say the least, so I want two S rank geno martial arts."
Luo Li slowly nodded before she said plainly. "I will get those for you. I promise, so do not sell it even if another woman with the name Luo approaches you."
Trouble was again afoot. But I just nodded and said with a pat to my knee. "Alright, I won't. Anyway, I hope this helps bring you some closure at the least."
We shared a few more pleasantries but it was all to clear that both women were feeling rather emotional at the moment. So as soon as possible while not being rude. I made my way out of the house.
And as I got back into the hover ship and I messaged Mio to ask when she would be free to go on our hunt. She sent a very interesting message to me that made me quickly adjust my landing designation.
[Meet me over at the public teleporters. We can just spend a couple days at the shelter together resting, as Rias is making me want to smother her with a fucking pillow with how stupid she is being!]
