Good evening folks, hope you're all doing well.
Relatively short Patreon post to let you all know that, having taken last week off to recharge, I'm now back. And I've been entering pre-production for the next bullshittery.
Since PEAK was selected via a poll last time, this next project is my choice. And I since the last few projects have been quite chonky, I'm looking for something where the length is a little easier to control.
As a result, I'm currently going through some options on the NAS.
For those not familiar with my process, all of the livestreams are initially saved as .mp4 files from OBS. And they remain on my main PC until their time on Twitch VOD's has passed. Usually 2 months.
At which point they are uploaded to the Closet Website (this process is skipped in instances where the footage was recorded offline). Becoming slowly uploaded in 6-8gb batches.
And when that is done, they're moved onto a very large NAS device on my desk, alongside the .txt file notes that were made during that stream, for permanent storage. Typically under the game name, or any specific mod conditions. To be dealt with later.
Within those categories, the folders look something like this. Each one containing a stream and its notes:
What I'm doing right now is "scrubbing" some of this footage. Going through the notes to see what's available, what's funny on a fresh watch, and therefore gathering some inspiration for a potential compilation of highlights.
Right now I'm doing this with the DayZ Standalone. Which has been very chonky indeed and is in dire need of some scrubbing. But I might possibly do the some with other relatively "simple" games that don't require story or context to make funny. Such as CSGO or Pavlov, etc. Things where the risk of overrunning the 10 minute mark is low.
Give me a few days of tinkering and I'll get back to you on what my next move is.
At the moment I'm scrubbing :)
