Hi all!
First, news: Things are moving along fine for an audiobook for LAST MAN OUT (PMF 6). I don't have a date or a confirmed narrator yet, but we're not at that stage. I'm happy to know it's in progress. Additionally, Tess Irondale has signed on to narrate an audiobook production of HOT RESTART! She plans to start recording in January, including some live recording sessions on her Discord.
Upcoming Fun: Patreon subscribers at my monthly short story tier have been receiving a monthly chapter in one of two separate ongoing new projects for a while now. I'm hoping to have a double-stuffed story drop for the end of December & early January, possibly putting up one story on each side of the end of the month (or around Christmas, idk). I have ideas for both Tanner and Alex shorts, but I don't want to over-promise; December has been productive so far, but the end of the month tends to eat up time fast. I'd rather stick to the sure things!
Professional Vacation, a thorough revision of a Literotica sci-fi story of mine under a different name is about ready for its next chapter. PV continues to be low-stakes sci-fi sexytimes and fun. If you could use some feel-good escapism, more is on the way soon!
Chapter Five of our untitled LA Sorcerer/Repo Man spinoff of Good Intentions is ready to go! Heck, it's so ready to go I'm even halfway done with Chapter Six. If the sudden swerve in the last chapter left you scratching your head, scratch no longer! We pick up with Evan and his new/maybe companion in the very next minute. Here's a taste. Can't wait to share the rest.
“I’ve had a literal demon stuck inside me for the last few years. I was possessed, but not like he completely replaced me on the inside. You ever have a dream where you’re doin’ shit you’d never do, but you’re still you? Like that. I got turned into the shittiest version of me.”
Sunday’s explanation pulled Evan’s attention off the road and his rearview mirrors. She showed less concern for traffic and potential tails than he did—and less concern for seatbelts or sitting straight, given how she was turned toward him. Her face held five kinds of tension, and behind it, all the exhaustion they could create.
He knew the feeling.
“Possessed,” said Evan.
“You blew me up with magic and walked away from our fight last night. You killed a vampire. And you just got up from gunshot wounds. Don’t tell me you don’t know.”
“Yeah, I get that magic is real. Possession is a new one.” The side street brought them to a red light on Wilshire Boulevard. Evan saw only a couple cars behind them in the rearview mirror. None stood out, but that told him nothing; a good tail would blend in, right? Someone could jump out of the cars behind or the one in front of him with a gun. Lots of things could jump out at him. “Demons, too” he muttered. “Heard they’re real, but haven’t seen it.”
“You saw it with me. They’re assholes. You don’t want none of that. I didn’t, either.” Sunday followed his gaze. The traffic light changed, releasing them into an eastward turn onto Wilshire’s line of businesses and palm trees. “Where are we going?”
“Away. Figured turns would help me spot anyone following us.” He realized his answers came too easily; he wasn’t thinking enough about privacy or deception. He was used to playing things close to the chest, but not at this level. Better to be blunt than look stupid for obvious lies, he supposed. “I’m not going anywhere specific until we get things straight between us. I don’t know you. As long as we’re moving away from trouble, that’s enough.”
“Yeah, I guess that works.” Then she frowned. “Why’d you run from those guys?”
“It’s not obvious?”
“No. You’ve got magic—fighting magic, and that’s rare. You took me on. Why not them?”
“Fighting wasn’t my first thought. Once I ran, I felt kinda committed.”
“Ah. You’re not used to this shit,” Sunday observed.
"No! No, I'm not!"
