Now that was a bit of a lengthy title isn't it.. haha... but SO much happened this week that I don't really know what should I put as the "highlight" of the week. Now that's certainly a problem I didn't think I'd run into, but I guess its not that bad in the end!
Improved Stomach Animations
Its been a while since I last worked on these, and honestly, they look so much better now with proper bumps and rolling animations! I'm internally calling this the v1.5. In v2, I plan on adding physical interactions with audiovisual feedback, but as for what it is currently, this is more than good enough for the demo. If you're wondering how the old one looked, Watch it here! (Audio Warning).
I'll probably talk about how they work in a future devlog where I feel exceptionally nerdy
Some other, "less visual" stuff
Mod Packagers and Installers have been implemented, allowing for easy sharing and installation of mods. More about the modding aspect in Venus Derby to come in future post!
Improved Game Logs, I do not need to know the "exact" place where you installed Venus Derby to, nor anyone else does. In the game logs, the logger now prunes file paths to the current game directory, reducing the risk of sharing personal information whilst sharing log files.
Support for non 1:1 Character Textures added. You can now draw and import characters with some obscure resolutions provided they are divisible by 4, and is a sane resolution smaller than 16384x16384
A Click Effect has been added that appears when you Left Click / Tap. Can't be a proper "gacha" game without that one.
Visual Novel Editor Stability Improvements, Fixed some long standing bugs in the VN Editor and Player causing the game to hang. Who would've guessed random events would cause "random" bugs (pun intended.)
About the v40 Vorecade Update
I know its been a very long time since v39 came out and there are some long standing bugs around. The original v40 scope has been shrunk to release v40 in a smaller timescale. More about v40 in a separate post to come.
