① Today’s Sketches
I just couldn’t quite get the hang of drawing faces.
When I line them up, there are only slight differences—or maybe there’s hardly any difference at all.
But while I was drawing them, it felt like there were pretty big differences.
I guess what really matters is whether I can visualize the image clearly in my mind.
By the way, which one do you like best?
② I’m Hooked on Shogi
Ever since I lost a game of shogi to a friend recently, I’ve been so frustrated that I’ve been working on shogi puzzles every day.
It’s surprisingly puzzle-like and really fun.
Thanks to that, I was able to beat my friend.
Also, the way of thinking used to solve shogi problems seems like it could be quite useful in manga, so I want to keep practicing.
③ VRC
One of my friends had a birthday, so we held a birthday party in VRC.
Since it’s VRC, it’s easy for people to gather, and a lot of people showed up.
It’s hard to pull off in real life because of the time and effort involved in getting everyone together, so I thought that was one of the great things about VRC.
④ I’ve started inking the manuscript!
I got the go-ahead from my editor on the manuscript rough draft.
So today, I worked on the line art.
It had been a while, and since I was using a new graphics tablet, it took me a while to get used to it at first. But as I kept going, I regained my feel for it and really enjoyed inking.
Plot → Storyboard → Rough Draft → Line Art → Finishing
As of today (June 20, 2026), my ranking of favorite stages in the process is:
1st: Plot
2nd: Line art
3rd: Storyboard
4th: Finishing touches
5th: Rough draft
That’s how it looks.
