Dear diary,
Chapter 99 has been released today, and Adara and Bertrán have finally tied the knot. Their only witnesses have been two local ladies, and yes, I’m aware that that’s probably not very legal. Did I make them get married without any guests so I didn’t have to draw more people? I neither confirm nor deny.
I already spoke of this subject in a chapter of "Miss Abbott and the Doctor" (read my other webtoon if you haven’t, gooo!), but some people might not know yet, so I’m taking this opportunity to mention it again: in some countries, like mine, wedding rings are put on the right hand, and that’s why my characters wear them in this way too. This doesn’t mean that the story is set in Spain -I don’t mind where it takes place-, only that this way is what I find normal.
Another interesting point, which may be strange depending on the country you belong to, is that here, women don’t adopt their husband’s surname when they marry. For that reason, our Adara Linnea will never be called Adara Manrique.
In addition, we all have two surnames because we receive the first one from our father and the second from our mother. Legally, it can be the other way around, but this is the general rule. Example: Bertrán’s surnames are Manrique Rojas, because his father was Eduardo Manrique, and his mother is Leonor Rojas.
Actually, my full name is Maripaz Villar López because my dad’s name is P(***) Villar C(**) and my mom’s is E(****) López G(***). It's easier than it seems, haha.

Hoy ha salido el capítulo 99 y Adara y Bertrán se han casado por fin. Sus únicos testigos han sido dos señoras desconocidas y sí, soy consciente de que probablemente no sea legal. ¿He hecho que se casaran sin invitados para no tener que dibujar a más gente? Ni confirmo ni desmiento.
Ya hablé de este tema en un capítulo de “Miss Abbott and the Doctor” (¡lee mi otro webtoon si no lo has hecho, correee!), pero seguramente habrá gente que no lo sepa, así que aprovecho este espacio para mencionarlo de nuevo: en algunos países, como el mío, los anillos de casados se ponen en la mano derecha, y por eso mis personajes también los llevan de esa manera. Eso no quiere decir que la historia suceda en España -me da igual el lugar-, sólo que para mí es lo normal.
Otro tema interesante, que quizá resulte extraño según el país al que pertenezcáis, es que aquí las mujeres no adoptan el apellido del marido cuando se casan. Por esa razón, Adara Linnea nunca se llamará Adara Manrique. Además, todos tenemos dos apellidos porque recibimos el primero de nuestro padre y el segundo de nuestra madre. Legalmente se puede hacer al revés, pero en general suele ser así. Ejemplo: Bertrán se apellida Manrique Rojas, porque su padre era Eduardo Manrique, y su madre es Leonor Rojas.
De hecho, mi nombre completo es Maripaz Villar López porque mi padre se llama P(***) Villar C(**) y mi madre E(****) López G(***). No sé por qué os cuento esto en español, jaja.
