boy, it's been a minute, huh?
turns out, coming back home from a two week holiday of sitting around lounging really snaps you out of the flow of work. whod'a thunk it!a much needed break from things though, i think. i've come back full of ideas and excited to draw them! it's just been... a little slow at getting back into the swing of things. but we're getting there!
i've got a few more Cheeky Con Comics sketched that i'd like to clean up, but to get us started, here's a somewhat unrelated strip! just a nice simple gag, a classic really. i actually came up with ANOTHER punchline for this classic set up, but i'll just have to put it in my back pocket for a "sequel" comic. we'll just have to wait 'till my next flight!
part of why this took so long, actually, was because i kept jumping between projects without ever finishing them! i really should make a habit of posting Work in Progress and sketches of comics on here, to buy me some time.
not only that, i ended up going back and redrawing the second panel Magna entirely, as the original finished drawing was just too generic and lacked personality.
like, sure, it gets the job done, but the one we ended up with is just so much more fun to me. i often hold back on giving the humans more fun expressions because "i need to differentiate them from the Toons" but i gotta remember that that doesn't mean i have to make them BORING and SAME-Y. i gotta cut loose, and make my humans silly, and my Toons Toonier!
