Hey guys, Axl here, sorry for late news; this time I decided to divide it in two parts to properly talk about each part of the news since I feel like it would get a bit too long if I did it all in one single post.
But anyways, as you can read, this part of the news it to talk about the progress on the game and what I’ve been working on in general.
To be honest, this month I really haven't made that much progress because of what I'll explain in the second part of the news… But as promised before, I wanted to show you the animation progress I’ve made, since I at least managed to get some of that.
As you can see in HERE, there are two types of animations I'm considering for Mind and Magic. One is made fully by me, with a similar process to all the other events in the game but simplified so I don't go crazy trying to finish it.
The other is using programs such as Live2D or AfterEffects, it can be either done by me or other animators I decide to work with.
(Also, I must say now that the piece above is not made by me: The base drawing was fanart made by M4nson and the rigging was a gift from Okarun).
What I've been thinking on it's something like this: Ideally, I would like to combine both, having the more specific/complex scenes being handled by me (and maybe a team if I get enough budget) while the scenes that require less movement can be rigged by other person and/or me.
I feel like this would be pretty sick but I want to point out the obvious problem: Budget, both in time and money. Even though I do not plan to animate everything in the game, which might be a disappointment for some people, as it is right now it may be hard for me to combine both, even at a smaller scale; I'd like to but lately I haven’t been able to catch up with production, so for now the plans for animations is to keep it low scale and for some events that I’m really interested in only. This however, I’d like to change once I get fully on track; but it still depends on how things play out.
I still need to actually try these on the game’s engine, for the handmade animations I have an idea on how to add it while for the rigged ones I’d need to experiment with some plugins. I don’t think there’ll be problems with that but it’s a small possibility, so wish me luck with it, it’d be sad to give up just because the engine doesn’t like it.
Finally I want to thank again for all of your support, I’ll be posting the second part of this month’s news soon.
