DESCRIPTION

The Hollow Root Dice Tower Book looks like an elegant forest-themed book at first glance, but when you open it up, it reveals a full dice tower built into a detailed forest scene with roots, textures, and depth throughout.

This model prints in seven pieces and is designed to glue together cleanly and seamlessly. I used 6x3mm magnets to keep the book shut, giving it that satisfying open-and-close feel.

Everything is designed to be support-free.

I’ve made an assembly tutorial video—https://youtube.com/shorts/cxcvr-2D6eY?feature=share

The Filament I Used

Book Cover- Black Walnut Filament – https://us.store.bambulab.com/products/pla-wood?id=43075831955592

Tree and Inner Wall Roots- Basic Brown – https://us.store.bambulab.com/products/pla-basic-filament?id=40475106967688

Pine Trees- Matte Dark Green – https://us.store.bambulab.com/products/pla-matte?id=41884210233480

Background on Dice Tower- Matte Green – https://a.co/d/00S4Or8y

Outer Page- Beige – https://a.co/d/0e0HONMa

I tested a bunch of different greens and browns on this one, and honestly a lot of combos look great. Definitely play around with it.

Print Settings

Layer Height: 0.20mm

Walls: 2

Infill: 5% Gyroid

Supports: None

Important Notes:

I recommend sticking with 2 walls on the book cover to keep the hinge tolerances working properly.

In my 3MF file, brims are turned off, but I added small “ears” for adhesion.

If you’re slicing this yourself, I recommend doing the same, or turning on brims for thinner parts like the Book Cover and Outer Page.
