[Lore] Swords and Souls

100-Year BladeWhen a sword turns 100 years old, it manifests it's own soul. Also known as a Tsukumogami.

Demon SwordsThe 7 Demon Swords were created at the Dawn Of Time when the embodiment of chaos, panDEMONium, was cut into 7 pieces and sealed away. They each contain an immeasurable amount of consumed souls, from this Universe and previous Universes, and they create pacts to feed off the souls of others. Each of the 7 Demon Swords represents some aspect of panDEMONium, but are they all bad guys?

Enchanted SwordsSwords that have had an artificially created soul inserted into them by a Swizard. An artificial soul is usually made by recycling leftover pieces of other souls - it's just easier than making one from scratch. Swizards tend to make these swords for some purpose and bestow powers to them, in the hopes they'll last hundreds of years. Their personality is usually reflected in their vocation too, like the Sword of Truth or the Sword of Dare.

Haunted SwordsWhen people die they usually go to the Godrealm right away, but some become Ghosts and sometimes a Ghost can possess a sword.

MerbladesHalf-humanoid, half-sword. Other species can end up this way too, such as Sworcs, Knife-ears and Shortsworfs. Don't ask how it happened, it just did.

Organic SwordA sword made from living tissue. It probably has some sort of naturally occurring soul.

RunesSwords can have runes on them, which are a pact with one of the Demon Swords. These are primarily Curses from Relentless Omens or Magic from Sacred Oaths. Mortals have no knowledge of the Demon Swords and so Kargob takes the credit once again.

SoulswordA sword that a Necromancer has transferred a humanoid soul into. This is how zombies are made and why they're always wandering about looking for "BLAAAADES~!"

SteelbornTwo merblades can have a normal child, a merblade child or a fully-sword child called a Steelborn. Inside that metal exoskeleton is some cursed arrangement of organs we don't like to think about too hard. And yes, they poop.

Sword AnimalsThey're alive because of the animal part, one would assume. Some occur naturally and others are the result of twisted magic. There's a big world of creatures out there. The line between what is an animal and what is a monster is razor-thin.

Sword ArtsA swordsman can imbue a sword with his own soul to activate special techniques. - Funky Katana - Using a leaf as a conduit, a Samurai can place some of their soul in their sword, transforming it to reflect their inner vibes- Golden Sword Arts - 79 techniques that can only be channelled through a Golden Sword- Sword Princess Power - The Sword Princess uses this to merge with her Sword into something resembling a Steelborn
