The Demon King's Goblin form has metal teeth, which isn't very apparent here.

Xiphos' is acting a bit out of character here because the episode had to mention a sword somewhere. It's not fully apparent in the rest of the story that Baltad's Blade is something that Xiphos' takes issue with King Hilton having. I always intended to flesh out their rivalry, but the story really moved on without them (although they've recently crossed paths again, so who knows?).

Another guest written episode. The shading is messed up because I merged layers by accident and didn't realize until all the speech bubbles were done.

I'm not sure why it says "Try-outs" on the sign when there's clearly no vetting process, it was first come, first served, and the realm now has so many magical sword wielding heroes it makes no thematic sense why only 16 people would compete. The movie trilogy is going to be adding a lot, isn't it?

Xiphos and Hilton are holding their God Swords, which looks a bit silly when you think about it, but it was important all 5 were gathered together.

A lot of people misunderstand the joke as being that each lost finger became the currency for a wish. The sword is saying he will only fix one finger per wish, because he already offered 3 wishes.

This wasn't meant to be Piercey the Pilgrim, but someone really wanted to connect some dots so I rolled with it. Welcome back, Piercey the Pilgrim.

A voice actor on YouTube called him "Stab-a-stain" and lowkey ruined this episode for me. The story had to contort a little to make Stabastian fit in.

That big sword in the back is the one Joyeuse wields later on. The runes on Baltad's plinth say "KADA" which means LOVE! Just a little callback to a language I invented many, many years ago. Don't read too much into that one.

This episode was doing really well on Reddit until some guy reposted it to r/sneks and then the original post got deleted by a trigger-happy r/comics mod. I'm still upset. I was getting thousands of Instagram followers. They tried to reinstate it but the damage was done.

Brad Nite is the bootleg version of Bread Knight. He had no right to become a recurring character, to be honest.

I was still struggling to find a vibe I liked for Dwarves, so you can see one in the background who has flat rocks for feet. I was thinking maybe they'd be humanoids with rock legs. It was one of those things where I would have had to keep explaining the joke before I could do a joke with it.

Deliberate He-Man and She-Ra vibes, except I think those two are cousins and these two are definitely not. This is set in the lands around Dark Knight's Keep, where the Sword Hydra roam.

Took the time to fill in a story beat. I think I must have been getting asked a lot of questions at the time.

This episode tripped some people up because the Great Sage Of The Heavens has a beard in his youth, and being clean shaven when he is older isn't a linear character progression. A lot must have happened between Momma Sprout protecting that sword and it ending up with King Hilton.

Parodies of two people I know. That 6 on a post-it note is a Rick and Morty reference.

I called them Merblades and I'm sticking to it. But later on I added the term "Steelborn" for more of the edge cases.

That's the Stabbage Man behind Spencer the Fencer. Glaive and Smith never cross paths again. The Demon King eating his first God Sword needed to be it's own full page spread, really. A lot of people thought Silvertongue was Sickle.
