A new year is approaching, and so is a new Board Game of the Month Club package! We are really excited to start a new year with you all, and we hope you're enjoying being members of the club. Let’s check out what will be coming in the first package of 2026!
Phantasmic (Featured Wallet Game)
2 - 3 Players
Members of the elite Phantasmic Dueling Squad routinely test their skills against each other. Employ your knowledge of counterhexes to prove that you’re the best of the best.
Each turn the Leader picks a Challenger and targets them with a spell. The Challenger plays a counterspell and declares whether it is stronger or weaker than the Leader’s spell. The Leader must decide whether to believe the Challenger or not. The Challenger then reveals their card, resolving any revealed effects. If the Leader guessed correctly, they win the duel and keep the Leader role; otherwise they lose the duel and the Challenger becomes the next Leader. Play until someone wins or loses 3 duels. The first player to win 3 duels is the winner! Otherwise, if any player loses 3 duels, all other players win!
Phantasmic: Necromancy (Expansion to Phantasmic)
2 - 4 Players
Raising the dead is fraught with risk and peril, yet those who master it find themselves with more power than they could have imagined.
This 6-card expansion introduces 5 new spell cards and 1 book card. With the ability to add a 4th player, there's even more competition. Will you risk a shift in power to raise the living dead?
Apropos Starter Kits
The new Apropos games will come to the Board Game of the Month Club with a 9 card starter kit, and then a card each month in 2026 until they are complete. Apropos: Of Board Games: Table Talk is a standalone wallet game that tests your knowledge of board games.
To win, players must think of board games that fit increasingly restrictive categories. With each newly flipped card, alternating between Must Have and But No requirements, players must cooperatively find a single example that fits every criteria so far. Get the correct answers for the right to call yourself a true expert!
Apropos Of Movies: Movie Magic Starter (9 Cards and Wallet)
1 - 8 Players
Apropos: Of Movies: Movie Magic will not only give you a challenge to test your movie knowledge, but can also lead to watching a movie! Over the course of 5 rounds, you’ll increasingly narrow down the possibilities as you name movies that have certain traits but not others, adding a new word (such as Explosions) each round. As a bonus, you can all watch the last movie chosen regardless of whether you make it to the end or not - at the very least, you’ll have narrowed it down to 1-5 movies to go binge-watch on the cold, winter days that are looming right around the corner.
