HELLO and welcome to another Monday Post. How have you been? How was your week? I hope everything’s going well. Well, in any case, here’s a word of advice from your sensei: "If you are a man going through hard times, know this: nobody cares, and it’s going to get worse." No, I’m not whining subliminally or anything—I’m doing OK. It’s just something I saw online that made me think, “Yep, sounds about right.”
WATCHED A MOVIE. Project Hail Mary was the first modern movie I’ve watched since Spider-Man: No Way Home. (At least, I think so—I don’t remember watching anything recently apart from Spider-Man and Top Gun.) Anyway, everyone said it was a good movie, but I found it pretty mediocre. I know it’s based on a book, but it felt like it should have been a cartoon instead. I don’t know—maybe I’m just losing interest in movies as I get older. It’s probably just my subjective perception. All I know is that it was an okay movie at best. IMHO.
THE SHOP. I’ve uploaded a new item to the shop/gallery: Jasmine’s Three Wishes, an older illustration of mine. The pack also includes a pencil sketch version. Go check it out ;)
GOOD NEWS. While testing the PRINCESS QUEST (yet again) before uploading it to Steam for approval (again), I finally found a bug I thought I had already fixed—but apparently hadn’t. The issue was this: if you used the "ENDING VIEWER" before unlocking all three endings, you would get locked out of unlocking the remaining ones. Unfortunately, this bug is also present in the current version of the game here on Patreon. The good news is that it will be fixed in the Steam version, and I’m super happy I was finally able to track it down. ^_^
SPEAKING OF STEAM. I decided to add Steam Achievements to the game. I was really curious whether I’d be able to pull it off. Once I upload the final build and playtest the game through the Steam launcher, I’ll know for sure. For now, all I can do is hope I did everything correctly. I followed a tutorial Nikraria sent me—it was quite straightforward, but the only way to be certain is to test it myself.
LUMINOUS ARC 3 is the best game ever! Well… almost. It’s honestly kind of shocking how much better it is than the previous two entries. Plus, this one was never released in the West, so it got a 100% accurate fan translation. It keeps all the honorifics and is basically a word-for-word translation, which purists like myself really appreciate. I love the ability to roam the academy in the evening and hang out with the classmates. And, by the way, the academy has a bathhouse in the basement that you can visit to trigger some… quality content moments XD. Seriously though, I enjoy it so much that I’ve already added it to my all-time favorites, alongside P3:FES, P4 Golden, Trails of Cold Steel I–II, and Stella Glow.
ANOTHER GAME that I continue to enjoy is Jak X. Honestly, I thought I’d just beat a few tracks and put it away, but it’s so hard to stop. Everything about this one is freaking perfect. Every time I boot it up, it puts a big dumb smile on my face and makes me want to revisit the second game in the series as well.
WHILE DOING SOME RESEARCH, I accidentally discovered that people used to cosplay as characters from SSX. Oh man… just looking at these photos, you can tell this wasn’t some promo stunt paid for by EA, but a group of passionate fans having fun. Those were the days… -_-
THE WORK. Although I have nothing to show for it, I had a very productive week. A big portion of it was writing, and that can usually go one of two ways: I either do a decent job and end up happy with the result, or I spend several days trying to write something that isn’t terrible, fail, and end up hating myself like those crazy writers you see in movies—rooms filled with crumpled paper, shouting at the mirror: “You have no talent for writing!” Thankfully, this time it was the former. I also started working on some art assets, but only barely, so I don’t have anything exciting to show yet. The plan for this week is to upload the latest build of Princess Quest to Steam for approval, work on more art assets, and do some additional writing. Wish me luck. See you all next Monday. Laterz.
