Today I'm back with something a little different. Something I've been working on on the side, but wasn't exactly sure what to do with.
I'll give you a little explanation before we dig into this.
Some time ago my BFF Nora (IRL) discovered a story I was writing and she totally vibed with it. And, after the initial shame of it all, we started working on that story together. You see, Nora also really likes to write as a hobby, and horror is totally her thing!Sure, we might have different favorites when it comes to body and psychological horror. She's the friend who pulled me to all those SAW and Hostel movies, because she's a different kind of crazy than I am, but we also have a lot in common as well. Yet, as our story grew, we realized we really don't have a whole lot of practice with writing actual stories.
I admittedly haven't written an actual "story" story since my publications over at Fictionmania or TGStorytime under the penname Tseudo Nimm (later changed to Kara Comet because it was my username over at TGComics).I'm incredibly rusty and Nora's never actually published anything before,s o we decided to write a few of our own stories before we get back into our collaborative project. I'm sharing the first three chapters of mine with you today, and you can read Nora's work-in-progress over on her Patreon for free if you're interested.
This is one story I've been wanting to tell, but I didn't want to create another comic series for it, because it's likely going to be ongoing for a little bit, and I already have enough of those. So I had a fun idea for something to work on when I'm not really feeling the comic I'm currently working on, which happens more than I'd like to admit.
But I know that a written story isn't exactly for everyone, so I'm publishing this one with a few different options:

I hope you enjoy the introduction to this story and the formats provided, and I'd love to hear about it! I'm going to try to upload a chapter every other week with the same options, since this is likely to be something consistent in my life, as Nora and I are pushing each other to continue our writing practices.
As for comics, I'm tabling Drafted and Diaries for about a month so I can create a one-part genie story that I've promised ol' Jarnathan (one of my Discord besties) for a while now, and then I'll let you know what to expect once that's in your hands. It'll definitely be one of the two, with Dan's Distortion getting picked back up in the spring or early summer once Diaries is concluded, so long as I can maintain around this current pace for work.
If anything changes, I'll try to communicate that, but those are my plans for the moment. I'll also have another batch of Pin-ups at some point soon, so be sure to let me know if you have any ideas!Edit: The images were out of order for chapter 3 in the Captions version, that has been fixed.
