See, the original plan was to go out and get some breakfast at a place a couple blocks from there. The thing is… well, it's cold and rainy out there and it's warm and comfy in here so… “fuck it! Let's order something for delivery” they thought.
So Zara reached for her phone that fell in front of the bed last night and tried to make her order while RJ teased her by gently pushing her playfully trying to distract her.
Fun fact. This scene has a really dumb source of inspiration and if anyone can guess it they'll get a 😎 emoji from me.
I think I had designed RJ’s bedroom for something before, don't remember what, but I did redesign it a bit here because I couldn't find the original one, and it turned out to be something of a challenge.
I see RJ as something of a normal guy. whatever that means. lmao. And turns out I have troubles in getting myself to understand the normals’ mind.
At first I wanted it to be a poster for some in-universe movie or sports team and I designed a couple ones but It didn't feel right, it didn't feel real or mundane enough.
So I used a real one and I decided on Jaws for 2 reasons. 1: It's a cool poster. But the thing that sold me on it is that I came up with a story for it.
He just sort of has it.
He bought it at a flea market from an old woman who was just trying to get rid of the things of her ex husband who had just ran away with one of her friends and neither the woman nor RJ knew that what was being sold was an original print from the original release of the movie, so it ended up being pretty cheap for him.
He still doesn't know it btw. But it has to be worth something.
We of course also have some family portraits. We have seen RJ’s parents before of course but this is the first time we see his brother and look, they're so cute and Tiny!
There's also a photo when he went hiking with his brother and his back then neighbor and current sister in law.
They and Laura of course used to be RJ’s old clique before the band. Laura of course joined a bike gang and disappeared and RJ wasn't comfortable being a third wheel. But there was also some drama.
RJ doesn't like to talk about it but I will… eventually...
Now, I don't know if I should mention it but there's been some theorizing, specifically by one specific subscriber of this Patron about Elisa, my adult model/barista bear character being RJ’s Sister. And while that was never really the plan. I have to admit the evidence for the case is pretty solid. Made me consider if I was leaving clues of that subconsciously or something (Nah…don't think so tho)
And I just mention it because I have to admit, I actually don't dislike the idea, it’s a pretty fun concept. But I already had this dynamic with RJ’s brother and I'm not sure where that leaves her in there. But on the other hand this is just the second time I mention that so, does it really matter that much?
Point here, I haven't really decided. (Maybe a cousin?) But just for fun here's a not officially canon yet version with her. It's Christmas after all so why not?
And finally of course there's a photo of him and his girl. I haven't decided if this picture happens before or after Zara and RJ's relationship becomes public (Or more like after they find out it already is). But the fact that the photo of their date I posted earlier is still in the cardboard frame suggests that that date happened not so long ago. Maybe this is the morning after. Or maybe he just hasn't gone to buy a new frame.
Finally, I think it is time I acknowledge the elephant or whatever. I have avoided mentioning it but RJ has his old plates on the wall.
And with that it is official that this picture forms part of my beloved series “Couples next to signs with numbers on them”! I actually almost missed that detail.
Also, I guess this makes it the first time I post a NSFW of the band mates themselves. And barely at that to be fair. I think it still enters into the “suggestive” category, not that different from other stuff of the band I have posted in the Patreon already, but I have to start from somewhere lol. Besides… world’s over, society is collapsing, it's Christmas! Let's live a little.
