So that went ok I guess. And look everyone! It's Donnie!
Making his second biannual appearance. So enjoy him before he goes back to the vault! (I don't draw him as often as I could. That what I'm trying to say)
TF this isn't actually the first time Iggy's mom and Donnie met, but that was more of a casual thing. She went to see Ignacio and Donnie was there one day.
And this dinner isn't that formal of a thing either. It was more of a “-¿Can Donnie come?- Asked Ignacio and she said -Sure-”
See, Donnie is not really on good terms with his family and Ignacio of course is not gonna let him alone on Christmas.
Iggy and his mom are not strangers to family drama of course. Long story short, I've mentioned before but Ignacio grew up in an abusive house and her mom was there too. She would do that “pretend to not notice or pretend that it was a normal” thing.
And then Iggy's dad passes away. Things stay weird between Iggy and her mom for a while. And then Iggy moves out to go to college and he thought that was it. He would see her for the last time.
He was wrong, they would talk over the phone and would see each other once in a while but things were still weird.
And then one day she appears again. Tears on her eyes, asking for forgiveness. She's been seeing a therapist, restating her life, she moved, sold the house, the whole deal. So things then got weirder, but the good weird. The type of weird things have to get before getting better.
And now we're here. She showed them her new place, got to meet Donnie better and they got it off, so that's good. Telling childhood stories. Iggy is gonna be cringing a lot tonight, but still having fun. I like to imagine Donnie often laughing and adding “He still does that!” to Iggy's mom's stories.
Sharing dinner, Donnie had two plates because she forgot bears eat meat. Nothing supernatural is happening in the background, I'm not even kidding. What a nice evening! Happy Christmas!
So yeah I'm taking the chance of having Iggy not running for his life for once to do some of his lore.
But, both Donnie and his mom believe he is a photographer, which is true, and that the whisperers are some kind of documentary crew, which could be true if he finds the time to edit the footage and do some voice over.
Some final things to add, Ignacio's dad was also a horse. Iggy gets the colour of his name out of him and his mom's used to be darker.
And finally, my favorite detail in the background is the fruit bowl with 70% apples because horse.
