A very Vero christmas!
AKA: After the ordeal

Vero's mom is in a bit of a rush right now but she's actually very glad to have the whole family home from Christmas. There's actually some more of them coming but here are all her sons (+1).
Ah. You thought I was done with this series? Think again.
I've been wanting to extend this concept of the holidays with the family for literally a year. And it finally is here!
I was afraid I wasn't going to get to do it this year because the vampire thing took longer than expected and by then I was kind of exhausted. Not of the characters but this one I was especially afraid because I knew it was going to be a lot of characters.
In fact, I left out some as I had originally planned to put some of Vero's extended family, but the composition became too crowded.
We have Vero's dad, but hey! be quiet, he’s taking a nap. He unfortunately has had to work overtime this week. But at least he got the 24 and the 25 free, so that's something. He used to be an athlete in his youth and almost went pro so that's probably why his family has that sports thing going on.
We also have Vero's mom who we see is in a bit of a rush. She looks mad but it's just being firm because it is the 2nd time she asked the twins to play outside today. Of course she's also been asking the same all of their lives but she's getting nostalgic right now as she hasn't had to say that as often since they moved out. She also did sports when she was young, In fact, that's probably how she and Vero's dad met, though unlike him she never really tried to go pro.
We also have The Twins! Samuel (the donkey) and Daniel (the kangaroo), Vero's older brothers. Even though they came in different species they do have that in-sync twins thing going on. Whenever Nicole meets them she's probably gonna want to do some psychic test on them. But she won't say it, she will probably just think about it.They don't live together and have their own thing going on right now but when they get together it's like it hasn't happened a day.
Of course we have Vero. The middle child of the family and in part that's the reason for her being so independent. She was the family's baby for a very short time. She's also on a visit as, as we all know, she currently lives alone with her demonic Doll roommate.
She's being about it every time her family asks about her work. As far as they know, and depending on who you ask, she either works at pest control, at a security firm of some kind or she does favors for the mafia. (And at least two of those are kind of true in a sense)
There's also Kevin in the back, Vero's younger brother, a bit of the black sheep though not really, he's a bit dramatic. Puberty hit the poor devil’s brain hard lmao, he's in his first year of college now. He didn't tell the family he would bring a guest, his girlfriend Jolie (The puffin). They met like a month ago and they're already planning to run away together (They won't).
And finally Sofia. The youngest daughter, currently in high school. Admires her sister very much but rarely says it. Currently texting with her friends while they are with their families. She did see a ghost once but she doesn't seem to be as perceptive as Vero.
I picked kangaroos for Vero's moms species because of their fame at being good boxers. Sort of explains Vero being as good at fighting with her hands as with feet (Or should I say, hoofs and… hoofs). Not that I think that needed an explanation, but I came with a fun one, so it stays.
Does this mean that Vero has Australian ancestry?
No, or I don't know. Sure why not… You may have noticed by now that I don't really put as much of a thought into the places of origin of the species of my characters as I could or probably should.
As I mentioned before, for a time I wasn't sure if I was gonna make this piece this year. Not only I was a bit tired after the Vampires but tbh, It took me a bit to feel the Christmas magic this year. But I do now! I can hear the sleightbell, I bought a turkey for my employee and my heart grew three sizes in one night (my doctor was horrified).
So at the last minute I decided to do it because I didn't want to wait another whole year.
Besides, especially Vero and Iggy (Whose piece is also pretty much done and I'll be posting later) deserve a nice Christmas because they had something of a rough year.
What I'm not sure about is if I'm gonna make them public this year because, not only I'm not even finished posting the vampire thing, I feel it would be weird to post these two without at least Nicole's and the problem is that I don't know if I'll have that one on time. Not to mention Ian's.
Unfortunately it seems like socially I've run out of time. I have like three posadas in a row, some family stuff, I'm gonna go watch AVATAR! and then Christmas itself and I still have some commission pending. But I'll make an effort.
There's also the Tak one that I'm still trying to figure out and I actually want to revisit this series with the band next year. I kind of already did with Davo, Tina, RJ and Zara but I do have a couple of more bittersweet ones I can't wait to draw. Maybe I'll do it during the year, who knows.
