Including 3 totally new characters.
There's basically a whole month between full moons so when they happen Denise and Monique really make the most out of those nights.
Which I guess implies that Denise has a non werewolf form which leads me to my often commented issues with the concept of werewolves in an animal people world. How would that work? Is she a regular sized wolf the rest of the month? Is she a canary?
Well here's the neat part, any time I draw these two I've decided to not really think about it. These two form part of my vibes only based character set. Though I clearly have thought about it. Lol
Anyway, I wanted to start making my spooky art for this year but I got confused and I made it spicy by accident. (Silly me) Not complaining though.
Last year I mentioned I had a bunch of sketches with these two that I'd like to finish later and some of them I will soon but, funnily enough this isn't one of them.
Back then I had a sort of “feel” for the lack of a better word, that I wanted a piece with these two to have, so I sketched a lot trying to figure it out but just until now I actually achieved it. Hurray!
Now, starting here I'll talk about an element of the picture and that will lead me to talk about very silly scenarios that should not be considered canon for the picture, and if you don't want the mood of the piece to be ruined stop now lmao.
See, there's two versions of this because usually in these types of pieces I avoid having characters looking at the camera because there's not supposed to be a camera, it's part of my more naturalistic approach or something, but here it just felt right. Like it fits with the campiness of werewolves and witches.
So while finishing both versions, the natural and the campy one. For a moment I couldn't avoid seeing them as a sequence. Like the two girls having some alone time and suddenly something grabbed their attention.
And then being in what clearly seems like a magic forest, I thought it would be silly if what caught their attention was some kind of Imp or little goblin just walking by not knowing what was happening. Maybe being like, “Ah, sorry ladies” something like this.
And that's definitely not what's going on, but even beyond that scenario, I couldn't avoid developing the concept which led me to the creation of my new type of creature The Vultuscubus or the Peepers.
Little Imp like creatures that go around the world carrying their tiny folding chairs and watching people while they “do it”
They're like a subspecies from the same demon family as the incubuses and succubuses but they just like to watch, they don't need consent because they're evil and they'll be the antagonists when I actually have the guts to make an R-rated Whisperers comic or something. This thing writes itself!
I'm just being silly of course, Tough I would like to have them reenact this American Dad scenes (I know, I know, classic me)

And believe it or not, I actually remembered the scenes after I had come up and drawn these guys already.
Anyway, back to the regular, slightly less sexy spooks unless I do something else before.
