It's our next adventure through the world of Star Trek on The Nexus!
First up on TOSTAS, it's the hilarious episode, "Bem." Originally airing September 14, 1974, this episode features the funniest Kirk has ever been as he gets increasingly more frustrated with our titular alien friend, a creature that can take apart pieces of his body like a Crash Test Dummy! It also has a giant god being voiced by Nichelle Nichols, a bunch of weird and gray lizard people, along with precisely zero lines for Bones or Sulu this month because it's all so cheap!
Then, across the Alpha Quadrant on TNG, it's the pretty kick-ass episode, "Silicon Avatar." Premiering back on October 12, 1991, this episode sees the return of the Crystalline Entity, a space being our Enterprise friends first encountered when we met Data's crooked brother, Lore in the season one episode, "Datalore." We've also got an old crone scientist who hates Data and wants to kill the Crystalline Entity, Riker watching his latest lady friend get completely wiped off the face of the planet by the Entity's power light, Data sexily playing classical acoustic guitar, and this scientist asking Data to speak in the voice of her dead son!
The Nexus is a WHM podcast where the guys futilely go through two Star Trek series at the same time. Thank you so much for continuing to support our family of shows—we couldn't do it without you! We know you have lots of options for pods and we're super-stoked you chose to spend some time with us—thanks again!
