The following are images and interview excerpts from the Pale Lodge's Member Record Grimoire, provided to the Archive by the Pale Lodge's Chief Record Keeper. Selected from Factional Annex: Pale Lodge. Padarack Yiss, aka “Thunk”
Order of the Breaker
Rank: Junior
Status: Deceased
“He was the best breaker I’d seen in five hundred cycles, that’s what he was. His ego was always the problem though. He accepted a contract that required him to win the Skyripper Arena Championship so that he could acquire its grand prize – a purified bolt of Gleamgem – for his client. He made it all the way to the last round, but after successfully winning the Championship by defeating Rocktooth the Ravager in single combat, he immediately challenged Rocktooth’s master, the natural titan Gorran. Gorran answered by hurling him off the peak of Skyripper mountain and into the Razorkelp Sea far below. Even in death he completed his contract, however. Turns out Gorran wasn’t a registered combatant, and Thunk had designated his client as the beneficiary of his winnings should he both claim victory and suffer demise, so everyone (except Thunk, presumably) was happy. The Lodge took what would have been his portion of the payout, and it bought the Breakers a brand-new rec room (among other things). He earned a place on the ex-member Wall of Honor for that one.” - Senior Breaker Eoltar Plum
Ulma Unar, aka “Ball of Yarn”
Order of the Tracker
Rank: Master
Status: Active
“There’s little that can keep her from what she wants. I don’t know at which point persistence becomes madness, but wherever that boundary lies I am certain she has crossed it on more than one occasion. She is the only member of the Pale Lodge, past and present, known to have successfully navigated and exited the Labyrinth of Thilsavrass with her target relic in hand not once, not twice, but three times. Her encounters in the Labyrinth have rooted within her a deep hatred for the deity that rules it, and she currently seeks any who would assist her in hastening his demise; an effort that has led more than a few to scoff. But I know Ulma. If she needs the Mazekeeper dead, she’ll not stop until she’s split his skull and painted the Labyrinth with whatever divine brain matter she finds inside...” – Senior Viper Ithassasara’anantii
Sathar of the Brinewind, aka “Skystitcher”
Order of the Weaver
Rank: Senior
Status: Active
“His specialty’s not the healing of beings; but rather the healing of worlds. Take the instance that gave him his nickname for example. Some idiot sorcerer had fiddled with their universe’s interspatial membrane, broken the damn thing, and smashed out a gateway to the Doomweld on accident. The rift opened wide in the sky above the city of Rovarrion, spilling forth HORDES of voracious Soothsappers. Sathar alone was able to seal it shut, saving the city’s population from being bound away in hypnocoons and having their sentience slowly consumed – a most undesirable fate. The city, grateful beyond compare, granted him a handsome sum in rare gems in addition to the ownership of the tower which had once housed the sorcerer at fault for the incident.”- Senior Weaver Lady of the Weeping Moon
Uq Katarak, aka “The Wraith”
Order of the Hunter
Rank: Master
Status: Retired
“It should surprise no one that an exiled princess would choose the burden of ruling over the hard life of a hunter. On her final contract, she was tasked with the elimination of a rogue titan that had assumed control of one of the last Aethiun Worldships. She eliminated the titan, earning the worship of the worldship’s populace, and, rather than return to the Lodge, opted to stay and continue to govern her new domain instead. I’ve heard rumors that she’s training her new subjects in the arts of war and power, building an army of assassin-mages, and preparing to reclaim her long-lost throne… but who’s to say there’s any truth in that. All I know for sure is that if I was the little brother that supplanted her all those years ago, I’d be shaking in my boots right about now.” – Senior Hunter Faren Thorn-Eye
Aed Sattsim, aka “Heel Stain”
Order of the Viper
Rank: Neophyte
Status: Deceased
“He had some talent for sabotage, I’ll give him that, but he just couldn’t control his temper. He got frustrated when he didn’t get what he wanted in negotiation, and would break against the obstinance of his opponents instead of trying to find another way through or around the walls they erected – instead of acting like a Viper. But the biggest mistake he made was believing his newly granted Lodge membership carried any power beyond that which he personally wielded. When he decided to flaunt his membership in an attempt to threaten the Wurgtroll chief he was meant to be wooing for his contract, he was quickly transformed into little more than a puddle on the floor and a stain on the furry giant’s heel. His nickname was earned posthumously, though in truth there are very few who speak of him at all these days…” – Junior Viper Oss Fenuare
Zathyk Strayn, aka “Godreaper”
Order of the Hunter
Rank: Master
Status: Active
“He’s killed more gods than any other currently active Master member. I don’t think he’s doing it for the payday either – the Lodge’s banker told me he hasn’t once made a withdrawal from his vault larger than the estimated cost associated with whatever Contract he was currently on. I don’t know what he has against deities, but the chip on his shoulder is visible from a universe away, and if he’s not careful it’s going to get him killed one day.” – Senior Hunter Jouthanian
B’uar An Anass, aka “The Tooth Taker”
Order of the Tracker
Rank: Senior
Status: Deceased
“Her obsession with collecting the teeth of titans and gods propelled her to great heights but ultimately served as her downfall. What was she thinking trying to sneak into one of the Many Mouths of Moragath, a true god of gnashing teeth? Maybe she’d just reached the end of her rope. Maybe she craved the challenge of it, and there was no greater achievement to secure – or maybe she was just crazy. Hard to argue with her record either way. At time of death, her vault was filled with enough astrinite fillings to buy the lodge an entirely new stridegate system…” – Senior Tracker Tolgar Tutar
