After visiting Prague for the first time I became a little obsessed with these "tea rooms" that serve up hot drinks, appetizers, and hookah pipes. I'm as big a tea enjoyer as anyone, but I remember being pretty hesitant on the tobacco front. Well, I got over that and enjoyed the experience to the fullest. If you ever find yourself in Asheville, NC it's actually home to a Dobra Tea, and while it's absolutely worth a visit they have to forego the smoking stuff for legal reasons. You know how it goes.
I've never tried to faithfully recreate these places in artwork, but there's a cozy factor that I'm hoping to capture in my own way. And so it is with this piece. It started as sketch for a very self-indulgent pawjob scene and the tea room offered as languid and luxuriant a setting as I could ask for.
