A major throughline in these older sketchpages is my fascination with bears, helped along by the series of pictures I was doing featuring Kalahari and the stubbornly anonymous bear shaman. And obviously this is around when their story began to heat up and I got to imagine how such a little fox could handle her. I'm still mostly happy with the barbarian-looking lady in the upper left, but her head is way too large to read as truly imposing -- it shrinks the rest of her body by comparison. I happen to think my anthro bear anatomy has evolved in a positive way since then, head proportions included. Even though I don't have much to show for myself besides a few bg character appearances...
Some sketches of Brandy the porcupine in the lower left. The very rough sketches of the kneeling girl ended up sitting on the backburner for a long while, but the same idea that was in my mind ended up becoming the Skunk Shaman (FA | e621).
I'll be away traveling soon, so no post next week. But hopefully it'll be worth the wait! I have WIPs for a scene on some foreign planet, where the locals are investigating a crashlanding. The finished piece just needs final edits and it'll follow soon after. I've also got bat-eared foxes on my mind...
