DESCRIPTION

With lift-out still a few days away, we spent our last days aboard Holly Blue anchored just outside the boatyard in Preveza.

It wasn’t the most exotic anchorage we’ve ever stayed in, nor the prettiest, but there was something special about those final days.

Perhaps because we knew they were the end of a chapter.

Whilst Ross and I juggled the never-ending list of jobs that always seem to appear before a haul-out, the boys made the most of being ashore. Ice creams became a regular occurrence, local parks were thoroughly tested, and there was plenty of wandering around soaking up the atmosphere of a place that has become so familiar to us over the years.

It’s funny how often the simplest moments become the ones you remember.

Not the big adventures.

Not the dramatic passages.

Just watching the boys laughing in a playground, enjoying a cold ice cream in the Greek sunshine, and making the most of a few carefree days before everything became a little more hectic.

For us, Preveza has always been more than just a practical stop for boatyards, supplies and haul-outs. It’s often been the place where one adventure ends and another begins.

This time feels no different.

Each evening we sat at anchor watching another beautiful sunset over the shoreline, knowing that lift-out was just around the corner.

Excitement.Nostalgia.A little uncertainty. And a lot of gratitude for everything this life has given us over the past seven years.

The boys, of course, were far less sentimental and mostly focused on locating their next ice cream. πŸ˜†πŸ¦

Probably not the healthiest approach, if we’re honest.

More from our final Greek days to come soon… β€οΈβ›΅πŸ‡¬πŸ‡·
