Hey everyone,

Frooby here with another update!

I’ve been hard at work on Jane’s mod, and progress is moving along nicely. I’m getting more of the outfit diffuses finished (by far the most time-consuming part of the process), and starting to move into weighting and mesh adjustments where needed.

Working in Substance Painter has made creating diffuses much easier overall, and it’s also given me the freedom to tweak UVs without having to start from scratch. In the past I worked almost entirely with mirrored meshes and UVs because doing diffuses was such a headache, but now I’m able to experiment more with asymmetrical designs.

I’ve started by reworking the UVs on several pieces of clothing — her jeans being one example — to allow for more asymmetrical details.

I also put together a quick boob tube top. It’s a style I’m always partial to, and it’s relatively straightforward to make. You can also see I’m experimenting with adding text to my diffuses now that I’m working with non-mirrored UV maps.

Following a suggestion in the Cake Stand chat, I’ve also begun working on a ripped alternate variant for her jeans. I’m still figuring out the exact look I want for the rips, but here’s a small sneak peek of where that’s at.

I’ve finished her sports outfit and put together a second, skimpier variant for anyone who likes the overall style but wants a bit more skin on show.

She’ll need a pair of trainers to go with this outfit, which I’ll get around to making soon.

Another Cake Stand patron suggested an outfit inspired by Nikke’s Quency: Escape Queen costume. This is still very much an early prototype — I need to make the accessory meshes and then move on to the diffuse. A big focus here will be getting the shiny latex material to look right, so I’m testing whether that works best baked into the diffuse, handled through the material/light maps, or a combination of both.

In this image the model is rendered with flat shading, like the others, with the glossy effect painted directly onto the diffuse. It gives a nice shiny look, but it doesn’t react to in-game lighting, so I’ll keep experimenting to find what works best.

One Cake Stand member suggested an option for her sunglasses to sit on top of her head, which I think looks great — you can spot that in some of the earlier images. Another suggested a choker, which I’ve already sculpted, weighted, and given a basic diffuse. I’ll likely add a bit more detail before calling that one finished.

Members of the Cake Stand testing group have already seen a bit of this, but I’m currently refining the mesh and starting work on the diffuse for a slingshot-style swimsuit.

While adjusting the mesh around her nipples for the new chest shape, I also played around with the idea of adding piercings, which felt very on-brand for Jane. I’ve made two variants, though I’m not entirely sure what I can safely preview here on Patreon.

I’ve also started work on her thong — every girl gets one. I try to give each character something that suits them, and with Jane’s tail I wanted a design that worked around it naturally. That led me to a cut-out-heavy design, which I’m really liking so far.

Overall, the individual pieces are getting closer to being wrapped up. Next I’ll be finishing weights, sorting the ini file, and handling the remaining bits needed to pull everything together.

I’ll be back with more progress to share soon 🙂
