Alright - we're in pretty good shape. At this rate, I'm on track to finish in the Fall. I'm still pushing for September, but it'll likely be late September, as I'll be using a good chunk of that month to finish off the final scene. In the very worst case scenario, I'd say November.
Lighting has been frustrating, but overall, it's going pretty well. Scene D is looking good. I've nailed down the look of it now, and just have to make corrections to the lighting in the first half of it to make it cohesive. The second half of it is just about complete.
All assets for Scene A are now complete, but lighting it has proven very challenging. The file is so huge now that I can't render all the props on screen at once and work, so I've had to work at in a piecemeal fashion to get it working, but I'm overall happy with the look now. I have the lighting setup complete, and now have to adjust it for the individual shots. Additionally, when working with "A", I had to do a huuge amount of animation corrections on the loose ends and details, of which there were more than I expected. I suspect I'll have a similar ordeal when I tackle "F". But at the rate I'm going now, I should be able to finish the lighting for both "A" and "D" by next week so I can move to "F". Scene F will be the final scene I work on.
My Snow FX guy finally got back to me, and despite some setbacks on his part, he has made very solid progress. I sincerely hope he can get his bit finished. My sound guy has had some setbacks as well, and has not made very much progress this past month, but he has assured me that he's going to push himself to be able to finish in September. These two hires are the only thing that could potentially delay the project, but I am confident in their respective abilities. Also, the end credits song is sounding fantastic in its current state and I really can't wait to unleash that bit. I'm kind of in love with what the musician did with it.
Overall, I'm still on schedule and I'm still going to push for September if possible. Once I finally get to "F" we'll be at the true homestretch. Thank you all so much. Here are the "Very Best" Patrons for the month:
