DESCRIPTION

UPDATE: Just a few fixes that you may or may not notice. I don't want to compel you to constantly be updating whatever you save from here so I AM making an effort to be less persnickety about little mistakes, but there was one in particular that really bugged me! Text is unchanged. Both sets on Patreon and in the Proton link have been updated.

I worked on this one longer than I probably needed to, but I really wanted this one to be as good as it can be! This is one of my favorite pairings, and the action is just too good!

I actually ended up managing to get more versions in than I thought would be able to in a realistic time frame! Not ALL of them (replacing Gex with dragon elders), but the ones I didn't were admittedly long shots. But that's okay, because whatever I do next with Spyro, Lateef, and Alban, I'd like to get all their faces in anyway.

I enjoy the idea of Gex being a big shot creep behind the scenes. He's such a big fan of imitating TV and Hollywood, he'll even imitate in their debauchery! A real "casting couch" kinda guy. And it's actually fairly in-tune with his lore! Have you ever read Gex's official backstory? Do it. I mean it. Take a detour from this description and read his story in the manual for the first Gex game. SERIOUSLY, DO IT. It's ****ed up and Gex has ISSUES. Here's a TV quote for you: "that boy ain't right." But that was actually pretty par for the course for toony platformers back in the day, the "over-the-top back story that works way too hard." Speaking of, while you're at it, go read Croc's origin story in the official game manual too.

But I digress.

For the phone chat, believe me, there were some other characters I wanted to include, but I wanted this to take place during a very specific time period (1998, after Gex's second game and Spyro's first game were released) so I was restricted to anthropomorphic platformer characters from games that existed before then without delving into the likes of Awesome Possum, Rocky Rodent, or... ugh... Wild Woody. Even I have my limits. And yes, I am fully aware that even though Vector qualifies I used his appearance/design from a later game, but there just wasn't much official artwork of him for Chaotix, and none that I felt was recognizable or iconic enough. Sometimes I have to executive override myself.

I hope you enjoy this set! I'm very proud of it, I think it's one of my best ones yet, and I'm very happy to share it with you! These are only the clean ones; you can find the full set in the link below which includes the usual dirty and stinky alts! And feel free to let me know if there are any misspellings or major mistakes like that. =)
