We would like to start by apologizing for our inactivity over the past few weeks. Other responsibilities conflicted with our work schedules, making it difficult to dedicate enough time to development. However, we’ve worked through those challenges and are now back on track, ready to bring even more exciting content to our community.
With that said, summer has arrived sooner than expected, which means it’s time for an exciting new June update. This is one of the biggest upgrades we’ve made to the Gamma and LCS versions so far, bringing a wide range of new features, cleaner exposure behavior, reworked glare and bloom effects, and much greater control over the final image.
New ImaginedFX System
The June update introduces ImaginedFX, a new built-in SPICE effects system developed in collaboration with @vikingfreakz. It adds a more creative and dynamic side to our PP filter, with effects including:
VHS effects
Anamorphic lens effects
Border effects
Dirt and lens contamination
Film grain
A Photoshop-style photo editor
Advanced Photo Editor
The new Advanced Photo Editor brings Photoshop-like editing controls directly into the game, giving you more control over the final look of your photos. You can fine-tune the lighting, colors, details, and finishing effects without needing to use external editing software.
Reworked Image Processing
We’ve reworked how the filter handles exposure and tonemapping, creating a cleaner and more natural-looking image. Transitions between interiors and exteriors are now smoother, with less over-processing and more consistent results across different weather conditions and times of day.
Reworked exposure LUT
New exposure-based tonemapping
Updated CBE targets
Improved interior and exterior exposure balance
Reduced over-processing
Cleaner LCS tone response
More stable results across different weather conditions and times of day
Reworked Glare and Bloom
Glare and bloom have been heavily reworked to make bright lights, reflections, headlights, and sunlight look more natural and less harsh.
Glare presets now respond dynamically to exposure
Default, 5-point, 7-point, GT7, Bloomy, and No Bloom presets have been rebuilt
Glare triggering is now more controlled
Lens flares are cleaner and more consistent
Bloom and glare settings have been improved and renamed
Atmosphere and Lighting Improvements
The June update also brings several improvements to the overall atmosphere and lighting, making scenes look more natural and consistent without pushing the effects too far.
Reduced forced fog and sky fog
Removed the heavy sky saturation introduced in the May update
Reduced directional ambient lighting
Added ambient radiosity saturation that reacts to cloud shadows
Stabilized the size of the sun and moon
Reduced overly strong god rays
Disabled forced lightning shader overrides
As always, a huge thank you to everyone who continues to support us. It genuinely means a lot, and we wouldn’t be able to keep putting this much time and effort into the project without you. Much love to all of you and keep an eye out, because we’ve got a lot more planned.
