BassGlove v1.70 – More Punch, More Control, More Soul in Your Low End

DESCRIPTION

I released the previous version just last week, but after using it on a few projects this week I realised there were two small things I wanted to improve. Kicks sometimes took up a bit too much space in the low end after BassGlove, so I added the new Calm control to make it easier to keep things balanced without reaching for extra plugins. I also tweaked the limiter so it relies less on clipping and behaves more transparently.

Changelog 1.70

Added Calm controlMakes it easier to keep the low end balanced if BassGlove adds a bit too much energy when shaping the transients.

Improved limiterThe limiter is now more transparent and behaves more consistently when handling peaks.

Smarter Transient DetectionBassGlove now reacts only to real low-end transients. That means you can sculpt the exact punch shape using the Attack, Release, and Curve controls without false triggers in busy passages. Every hit now lands exactly where it should.

Two Loudness Modes

Comp Mode – Acts like a smooth compressor, constantly matching loudness for natural, musical movement.

Static Mode – Measures once and applies a fixed loudness offset between the processed and unprocessed signals.

Tight / Deep Tone ControlThe Open/Warm knob has been replaced with something far more physical. As you move toward Tight, the bass gets quicker and feels like it punches you in the chest.Go toward Deep and it slows down, rolling out that thick, floor-shaking bottom end. It’s less about tone and more about how the low end moves through the mix.

Grit ControlAdds a bit of transient-focused saturation to make the low end feel denser and warmer. It’s 4× oversampled and nearly alias-free. Sometimes it makes things sound more “real” — other times cleaner is better. Use your ears.

(There’s also a small limiter that keeps processed peaks at input level — use only if it sounds good.)

The music in the demo is recorded and mixed by Alexander Strika. Original master by London Tech. Beat by Kiyoto

Formats:Mac – VST3 & AUWin – VST3
