Eternal Realms Arc 5 - Oh No! The Demon Noshitamish is a Masochist! Pages 17-20
One of the things I really wanted to accomplish in this arc was to elevate Nyx even further by showing just how powerful her apprentice truly is. We’ve heard before, here and there, that Nyx has more apprentices than just the Mind Weaver, but this felt like the perfect arc to properly explore that idea.
After all, we have Noshitamish here: a ruler of a segment of Hell itself, yet the Mind Weaver reduces him into an obedient, pleasure-drunk mess without much difficulty at all.
And yes, that is also the “her” he keeps referring to. Noshitamish knew rumors existed about Nyx and had heard whispers that the Mind Weaver served under her, but he never truly believed them.
Now he does.
One of the contrasts I want to explore more in the future is that, despite Nyx’s overwhelming power, her games and manipulations often begin with smaller, almost playful stakes that later spiral into something much larger. Meanwhile, her apprentices—perhaps trying to live up to her reputation—tend to pursue grander and more direct displays of power.
But enough about Nyx for now. This is still the Mind Weaver’s arc, and she has been looking absolutely sublime throughout it. When it comes to sheer elegance and raw attractiveness, she may honestly be the most striking character we’ve had so far.

このストーリーアークで私が本当に成し遂げたかったことの一つは、ニクスの弟子がいかに強力であるかを具体的に示すことで、ニクスの地位をさらに高めることでした。ニクスにはマインドウィーバー以外にも弟子がいるという話はこれまで散々耳にしてきましたが、このストーリーアークはまさにその考えを掘り下げる絶好の機会だと感じました。
何しろ、ここにノシタミシュがいるのです。地獄の一区画を支配する者でありながら、マインドウィーバーは彼をいとも簡単に従順で快楽に溺れた存在へと変えてしまうのです。
そして、彼が繰り返し言及している「彼女」とは、まさにこのマインドウィーバーのことなのです。ノシタミシュはニクスに関する噂を知っており、マインドウィーバーが彼女の配下であるという囁きも耳にしていましたが、それを真に信じてはいませんでした。
しかし、今は信じています。
今後さらに掘り下げていきたい対比の一つは、ニクスの圧倒的な力にもかかわらず、彼女のゲームや策略は、最初は小さな、ほとんど遊び心のある賭けから始まり、やがてはるかに大きなものへと発展していくという点です。一方、彼女の弟子たちは――おそらく彼女の名声に恥じないように――より壮大で直接的な力の誇示を追求する傾向がある。
しかし、今はニックスの話はこれくらいにしておこう。これは依然としてマインド・ウィーバーの物語であり、彼女は物語を通して実に崇高な姿を見せている。純粋な優雅さと圧倒的な魅力という点では、彼女は間違いなくこれまで登場したキャラクターの中で最も印象的な存在と言えるだろう。
