Six pages of the mini-comics are done, amounting to four stories. I've decided to draw two more of the stories (four pages), and possibly two more stories after that. Within the last few days I've inked 42 pages of "additional artwork" for those four pages. I did about as many pages of pencil and pen sketches.Some of the art has already been created, when I originally designed the characters, but that 42 pages is whatever new art needed to be inked for four pages of comic. Yes, a lot of work goes into these panels, and each character and element gets its own page or two. I've scanned this material in, and done some assembly (when a character was inked over multiple pages so that I could work larger). It will all require a lot of digital correction, cleanup and retouching, and eventually color.I previously created a style guide for this cast of characters, showing them from different angles, and it's easy to fall back on simply reusing and tracing that art. In fact that's often the intended style here, for metatextual reasons that will become clear later. I actually wanted to give the impression that the artist had been given a pretty basic style guide and was pulling from it directly. But for the most part, this time round, I've re-sketched the material and given the characters unique poses and expressions.
