"Look! I found blue rosabelles!" Mimiko called excitedly, waving you and her sister over.
"Do you think those will fit Getou well?" You smile as you kneel.
"I wanted snow lilies!" Nanako pouted a little.
"It's not winter yet."
It was morning time; the grass was a bit dewy, and the area had a light fog. The sun blurred within the white haze, but it did its best to peak out.
You had decided to take the girls out to pick flowers for the crowns they wanted to make. The others were busy packing and making breakfast.
Gently you picked the flowers and placed them in the basket.
"Girls..." You started a bit slowly. Your journey together was soon coming to an end, and you didn't want such a foul taste to be left with them. "...I'm sorry, you had to witness our fight..."
“…Oh…It’s okay…”
"...It was scary..." Nanako looked toward you, her eyes glossing, as if reminiscing about the moment. "...Is... everyone better now?"
"Yes...We are." You wouldn't say your pack was one hundred percent... There was still some awkwardness within the camp… especially with Choso there… but for the most part, you were moving in a better direction. So in a sense the situation was... 'better'. "We talked about it last night and came to understand each other. That's what is important for a pack...being able to talk to one another and tell each other how you feel...while also listening to how they feel. Even if it's hard to talk..."
"...Mama and papa used to yell at each other a lot..." Nanako's voice dropped a bit before she continued. "...Papa didn't want to help people...but Mama...always said helping was good..."
Your expression morphed into sadness, they probably viewed helping others in a poor light, considering what happened.
"Papa was right..."
Just as you suspected...
Shaking your head, you say, "I would...have to say they were both right...you have to help good people. Some people are bad...those people... those people were bad." Before all of this, you had viewed the Chi village as just being sick, but you have come to understand that despite their delirious state, they still chose to cast away a woman, all because she was a witch. Sick or not, they were already immoral; the sickness just amplified that. Perhaps that was your way to cope with what you have done… but you weren’t going to dwell on it. "You must be careful picking who you should help."
"..." Mimiko had stopped pulling flowers, resting her hands on her knees. "...Do you think..."
You waited for the girl to finish, but when she didn't, even her sister looked at her.
"What?" Nanako pushed.
"...Everyone...is going to be mad at us?" She questioned, looking at her sister. “Right?”
You looked surprised by her statement, "Oh- why would you say that?"
"...Be-cuz- um..." She sniffled, rubbing her hands together in a comforting manner.
You couldn't help but reach over to rest a hand on her restless ones, "Why would they be upset with you Mimi?"
"...With...what happened to Mama..." As Mimiko finished her statement she started crying, and so did her sister.
"No...no..." You felt the back of your neck prickle, hearing the pups whimper. You were supposed to be distancing yourself, but you could not fight the urge to comfort them. You didn't even try. You moved to hug the girls one within each arm. You rocked them gently as you spoke, "...No one will be mad at you, they will be so happy you guys are safe...You will also have to show your new moves that you learned along the way. They will be proud to see how much stronger you've become... So don't say something so silly."
The girls sniffled but nodded their heads, hugging you tight.
~
It was the last day of your travel.
The home stretch.
You couldn't really see Shapuro in front of you... The fog had become too thick. But you could see the clock tower lights that were flashing so Nanami knew where you were headed.
At times you will hear its faraway bells.
You felt a mix of emotions...
Excitement...
Fear...
Anxiety...
Sadness...
Accomplishment....
You had traveled to the undercity to save Yuta, and now you have returned… finally back from your long mission.
Ready to learn the truth of what lies inside your memories.
Your group slowed down before you crossed the bridge. It was difficult to see so you didn't want to run into any townsfolk.
"We are almost there!" The girls called excitedly.
You looked at your alphas with a smile, "We made it...finally."
Getou was a shivering burrito on his horse, "Yay..."
"I can't wait to try those balls again." Toji commented.
"..."
“…”
Everyone slowly looked toward Gojo.
Even Toji.
Your alpha raised a taunting brow, "Nothing?"
Satoru, who was trying to keep up his attitude, couldn't help but burst, "GUH- YOU KNOW HOW THAT SOUNDS!"
Your pack let out little laughs and snorts, but the childish joke went over the pups' heads.
You turned to say something, but you noticed Choso had stopped following you guys.
"Choso?" You pulled on the leather straps, stopping your horse. "What are you doing?"
The beta shook his head, "I won't follow you within there...It's best if I wait out here."
You frown, "What...you are going to sleep outside the town?"
"Let him." Sukuna shouted, already leaving the beta behind.
Choso's eyebrow twitched but he didn't let Sukuna get to him, "I will be fine here... you are welcome to come to me...when you are...allowed."
You hated how he said that, your alphas didn’t control you. However, considering what had been going on he probably thinks your men were controlling freaks.
…Which he wasn’t far off…
But you typically had them tamed.
"Oh-oh-" You said oh to Choso's words and then oh again when Gojo came by and grabbed your horse's straps, pulling you along.
"Cya." Gojo called without looking back.
You released a deep sigh, staring at Choso as he began to fade into the fog.
"B-Be safe! I’ll come back later!" You shouted at him, feeling bad for all his troubles. You wondered if he regretted ever meeting with you and your pack.
"I hope he gets eaten." Your white haired alpha muttered.
"Don't say that Gojo...there’s still so much I need to learn from him...I didn't have the time to really ask anything..."
He clicked his tongue, "That's why we are here, for Yuta and the witches to help you. We don't need that guy."
You hated how cold Gojo's words were.
He was such a dick when he was in yandere mode.
You decided to leave the subject alone. You didn't want to argue with him too much; you did enough of that.
"It's… quiet." Nanami stated.
"Well, it's early in the morning." Getou sniffled.
"No..." Sukuna shook his head, "...This is too quiet."
As the horses trotted into town, not one person came up to you.
There was no greeting.... no cheers...no nothing.
"What's going on?" You questioned, trying to peer in the thick fog.
Toji sniffed at the air, "I don't even smell any food cooking..."
"I'm scared..." Nanako whispered.
You were getting scared too.
It was like you were walking into Silent Hill. The hooves of the horses echoed into the lifeless town. The fog stuck to everything.
"Let's dismount...if we get ambushed, we can be better prepared for an attack."
You followed your blonde's order, getting yourself ready for anything.
Where were your betas? The witches? Yuuji, Junpei, and Megumi?
"Is...everyone dead..." Nanako whispered.
You patted her leg gently, the girls were still on their horses. Just in case they had to get out of whatever comes at you.
"No..." You shook your head. "...Yuta and Rika are very strong."
You didn't want to say what you were really thinking. Yuta and Rika are strong, but you didn't know about everyone else. It just depends on what...attacked them. Or if Yuta even made it back...
Many things could go wrong but you had to keep things optimistic, for the pups.
Getou spoke low, "What could disappear an entire town?”
"-Someone's coming." Toji growled as he braced his sword in front of him.
You readied your dark magic, holding one hand behind you protectively.
"STOP!"
A voice boomed loudly, you felt it in your very bones.
Your body locked up instantly at the command.
"What the hell-" You grit as you tremble.
"What- kind of spell-" Getou hissed but then he threw his arms out, able to move again. "Fight it off!"
Toji whipped his sword forward but it looked as though it was hard for him to move as well.
Sukuna's body burned with fire as he shook back and forth, getting his limbs under control.
"Where did that voice come from-" Gojo threw his hand out ready to flick the person out of existence.
"Over there!" You point, finally getting a hold of your arm.
"RAVEN?!"
You heard someone call you, the voice was from above.
Looking up, you saw Momo float down upon a broom.
"OMT! IT'S RAVEN!" She shouted in joy.
"Momo!" You gasp in relief.
The beta hopped off her broom, nearly falling into your arms.
"I can't- I can't believe it!" She cried.
You felt so good, hugging your beta. You missed her so much.
"It's been too long! How have you been?!”
“I have so much to tell you!”
“I as well!”
"Release!"
You heard the pups let out a sigh as their shoulder sank.
Mimiko whined, "I couldn't move my body!"
“That was weird!” Her sister added.
"Oh yeah!" Momo piped up and then pointed into the fog, "Sorry that was Inumaki!"
Your other beta came into view, holding a cone.
“Inumaki! That was you who cast that spell?” Nanami questioned.
“Alp…” The beta began to speak but then paused dropping the cone as he began to place something on his tongue. The boy finished what he was doing and then said, “Yes- that was me, but I need this on my tongue so I don’t accidentally command you.” he pointed at the piercing that he had just put in.
Gojo jumped on the beta hugging him. “Good thing you said something Momo! I almost blast this guy to bits!”
Inumaki spoke casually as if Gojo didn’t just admit he almost killed him, “That would have been most troublesome.”
That would have been more than troublesome Toge...
Your alphas began to converse with the beta as you turned to Momo who had her eyes behind you.
“H-hello…” Mimiko waved shyly.
“Oh, these pups…” Momo’s eyes widen, “…You two are…”
“Yes.” You nodded, Momo was most likely with the alphas when the girls were born. So this might be the first time they met. “This is Mimiko and Nanako… we found them during our travels...under unfortunate circumstances…”
It took Momo a moment to understand what you were saying. But once she did her expression turned a bit sullen, but then she looked at you with warmth in her gaze, “Thank you for protecting and bringing them home.”
Momo didn’t know the girls, but she was happy that you hadn’t shunned them. And even covered them in your scent like they were your own.
“She then smiled as she looked at them, Hi girls, my name is Momo!”
The girls looked at Momo shyly, “Hi, you are really pretty big sis!”
“Aw, thanks you guys are too cute!”
You smiled at their loving interaction, then you were brought back to your earlier confusion, “Uh Momo where is everyone?”
Momo gasped, “Oh-“
“What the hell did you say!?”
You looked over to your alphas, and you were most surprised to see it was Nanami who had shouted in anger.
“She said she has her reasons...” Inumaki shrugged.
“No fucking way.” Sukuna scoffed.
“Hey, what’s going on?” You walked over confused.
“Toge!” Momo huffed at him, “You weren’t supposed to tell them yet!”
“Tell us what?” You really needed to know what the hell was going on!
Nanami released a growl, “They have imprisoned Yuji!”
~
Your pack was damn near charging toward the clock tower.
Your betas were explaining the situation as you moved through the ghost town.
“So, what you are telling me is… The town found out someone was a witch and therefore started a widespread outrage that had people attacking each other… “
“Yes! It was like anarchy!” Momo exclaimed with her hands. “We were all so scared!”
“I’m sorry that happened…but Yuji stepped in and used his music to put the entire town to sleep? Everyone except the witches?”
“He did, with just a single song.” Inumaki spoke this time.
“Then why the hell is he in jail?!” Nanami shouted. He was the most pissed out of everyone in the group, but you weren’t sure how Sukuna was feeling… he was…oddly silent with a blank expression.
“Yeah, that doesn’t seem right?” Gojo snorted.
“He wasn’t even the one attacking you all, if anything he saved you.” Getou added.
“Where’s Megumi?” Toji questioned sounding more worried about his son than his friend.
Momo frowned, “Megumi is fine it’s…Yuji unfortunately…G.Ma had expected there was something wrong with him… with him able to put Junpei at ease… and then him having the ability to stop the town…such power like that…this place is HUGE! For someone who doesn’t practice magic or have strong curse energy it was… weird for him to be able to do that. She believes…he is something…evil…”
“Evil?! Really? Yuji and evil do not belong in the same sentence! Ugh- Momo take the girls, I’m going to talk with G. Ma!” You finalized busting into the clock tower.
Nobara and Maki were within the front entrance along with other Witches.
“Raven! Alphas! You are back!” The two girls came to embrace you.
“Thank you so much for saving Yuta we owe you- you have no idea.”
You couldn’t even enjoy this reunion- “Well…we might be cashing in that debt…” You hugged them back but then noticed Megumi running toward you all with a frustrated growl.
“They won’t let Yuji go!” He shouted at his father, as if it were his fault his partner was locked up.
“I know, I’m sorry Megumi I-“
“Fix this!” Megumi hissed.
“We will.” Nanami was on a war path, not even taking a moment to stop.
“Wait!” Maki stepped in front of him. “She has her reasons! Just…hear her out.”
Nobara nodded, “I was skeptical at first but…she did show proof. Just listen to her first.”
“That’s bullshit!” Megumi shouted with his fists balled up. “He helped you and this is how you repay him?”
You didn’t want to believe it, how could they say this about Yuji? Was he truly a monster that you hadn’t been aware of? “What is her proof? Being strong isn’t proof of anything.” You stated. There was no way! He wouldn’t have helped Junpei and helped the town if he were evil!
The other witches stood up, trying to block your pack.
Seriously?! This is what’s going on when you get back?!
“How dare she make these false accusations!” Nanami thundered on.
Big daddy was pissed pissed.
His scent heightened as did his anger, some of the witches who had stood faltered before moving aside.
You didn’t want this to end horribly. So you quickly stepped forward to stand by Nanami.
“We just want to speak with G.Ma. If she feels Yuji is an evil entity then I’d like for her to show us. We will go in with an open mind.” You patted your blonde gently, knowing his mind would not be open to any idea other than Yuji being set free.
Nobara waved her hands to the others, “Let them go guys…”
“What if they hurt G.Ma!”
You tried to defend your pack, “We won't, we just want to talk to her. If she was able to convince you all, then it shouldn’t be hard for her to convince us.”
There was still hesitation, until-
“Let them through!”
The group turned to see Yuta standing there with his arms crossed.
“Y-Yuta…”
“I’ll make sure nothing happens to G.Ma. Let them through.”
The witches dispersed as you moved forward. When you got to Yuta you gave his arm a gentle squeeze.
“Thank you Yuta.”
“I told you. Rika and I are forever in your debt.” The alpha smiled and then led the way.
“Where’s Junpei?”
“Sleep, until further notice.”
“Did you figure out how to get her memory back?” Toji questioned the other alpha.
“Not yet… I have been doing my best to learn from G.Ma but a lot of her spells are within the books that is in our home… It would be better for me to clear it out and then I can protect everyone and learn the spell faster.”
That wasn't a good idea… “No…You have dark magic, you are just going to feed them…”
“I…not necessarily. I can use other spells.”
“No…there are too many in there you will get overrun.”
“Well…I must try…It’s the only way.”
Gojo sighed, “I have a good feeling you won’t have to.”
“Oh? Why do you say that?”
You knew what he was hinting at.
You.
“Well…” You drawled, “…I am much much stronger and so is my holy magic… It will be tough but…I think we can break them down in waves… go in…clear a few….come out…rinse and repeat…”
Getou looked annoyed, “How long is that gonna take? I thought our job was finished once we rescued Yuta?”
“Tell me where your creator is spawn!”
You heard G.Ma’s voice carry down the hall.
“We can talk about it after we deal with this…one problem at a time fellas…” You shift your focus to the door in front of you.
Sukuna pushed the door open and you were able to see G.Ma waving her stick in the air with one hand and holding a clear potion in the other.
She looked like she was a preacher trying to cast a demon out of a body.
Poor Yuji was shirtless in a purple cage with a bunch of talismans all around him and the entire room.
“What the hell is going on here?!” Nanami shouted at the woman.
“Ah!” G.Ma startled as she looked toward you all. “Wh-who allowed you in!?”
Yuta waved at her, “I did. They deserve to know what’s going on.”
Yuji was tied up in a chair and though he was a prisoner he looked…as bubbly as ever?!
“Hi guys!” Yuji smiled cheerfully.
“Yuji?! Are you okay?” You questioned while surveying the exorcist looking room.
“Yeah! I guess I'm a demon or something…I had no idea!”
“No! This is poprosterous!” Nanami pointed toward the old witch. “Release him!”
Sukuna stepped forward making everyone freeze… even G.Ma.
Oh no…. He was pissed…
“Sukuna wait-“
“PFTHAHAHAHHA!” Sukuna then pointed at Yuji doubling over as he laughed.
Oh- what the hell-
Getou rolled his eyes as Toji shook his head.
“Sukuna this isn’t funny!”
“You're right this is fucking hilarious!”
Gojo waved his hand, “Psh, Yuji wouldn’t even hurt an insect.”
“You don’t know what he’s capable of!” G.Ma shouted.
“HAhahah~ Naw leave him in there!”
You decided to talk for your pack since emotions were going haywire…and Sukuna was not helping, “G.Ma… Why do you have Yuji locked up?”
Yuta slid a chair over and sat down, “Tell them what you told us.”
G.Ma growled at him, “The likes of them will not understand… But I will try to explain…” The woman turned to you as she held up her glass bottle, “This creature… It is part of a greater evil. An evil that tormented our world long ago… my ancestors had no idea what had happened to it but… this…abomination…has proved that it is still around.”
Yuji looked so concerned as he nodded his head listening to G.Ma speak about him, as if he too was so shocked that he was a demon.
“I've been saying that.” Sukuna nodded, feeling validated for hating Yuji.
Gojo chuckled, “Are you sure you got the right brother? I think you need to check this one too.”
Nanami waved his hand dismissing the extra noise, “And why do you believe this? What is your evidence?” His voice was much calmer but you could see the way his muscles tensed.
G.Ma flicked the potion at Yuji. The areas where the substance touched began to reveal symbols, they were dark red and spiraled around his body like a snake… but then they came together in the middle of his chest to reveal a weird-looking star with multiple points. It circled and glowed before fading away.
“…”
Itadori watched just as silently as you all.
“See…this symbol is that of the demon…” G.Ma whispered in fear. “It…lives…”
“Sorry guys…” Yuji sounded so disappointed in himself.
“Have you seen a symbol like that before?” Toji questioned Getou.
“No….I don’t know what the fuck that was.”
“What was that?” Nanami pushed for more information, “And what is this evil?”
“I…I cannot remember…All I know is this means evil! I was warned against it, it was bled into my very being!”
That made Nanami annoyed, “Clearly not enough. How could you spew such nonsense with no knowledge?!”
“I-I just know!”
“Well…how do we find out more information?”
Yuta cleared his throat raising his hand, “That…was another reason why I was going to travel to our home…it holds a lot of books passed down from generation to generation. Maybe we can even save Itadori.”
G.Ma looked toward Sukuna with a little glare, “I should check you as well.” She pulled out another bottle and popped the cork with a loud pop.
Your fiery alpha scoffed, “No way you are throwing that shit on me.”
You looked toward him and gestured, “I mean…if Yuji has it then Sukuna must have it.”
“I bet all my rubies he has it.” Gojo joked.
“Then let us check!” G.Ma whipped her hand toward Sukuna who moved out of the way, the liquid landing on the floor. “Stand still you demon! Reveal to me what you really are!” She shouted tossing more of the liquid around.
“Fuck you hag!” Sukuna continued to dodge, and some of the contents got on your hand.
You looked at it to see that your entire hand curled with light and dark energy together as if it made up your entire body.
“Well, I guess I'm not evil.” You snorted.
Getou called to your other alpha, “Sukuna stand still so we can get this over with.”
The potion got on everyone but Sukuna.
For Toji, Gojo, and Getou it did nothing…
But for Nanami….
“This is childish…” Nanami stated in agitation, but then a light appeared on his arm where the substance landed on him.
That had everyone stop, looking toward the blonde as golden chains wrapped around Nanami’s arm and spread over his entire body. It moved over his skin as if it were locking him into place and then finally it circled his head, shone bright, and then disappeared.
“Woah.”
“What…what the fuck was that?” Gojo jumped back.
“I have also…never seen that before.” Getou was gagged once again.
Nanami was looking at his body as if it were the first time he was seeing it. “What…does that mean?”
“Hm…” G. Ma was stunned.
“Anything?” You questioned the woman.
“Oh…” G.Ma blinked swiftly, “…I’ve seen that somewhere in a book…but it too... is in our library. I cannot remember fully what that means.”
“Do you know anything?” Toji raised a brow.
“I know a lot for your information! There’s just- too much to hold within one brain! Let me see you read the millions upon millions of books and remember every spell, disease, cure, curse, sigils-“
“Alright alright, you made your point.”
“Does this mean Nanami is a spawn too? I fucking knew it.” Gojo sighed.
“Possibly…” G.ma answered, “He could be something just as terrifying…”
“Put him in the cage too.” Sukuna snickered.
That moment of him looking toward Nanami was enough for G.Ma to throw her pocket potion at him, it splashed him right in his face making him growl.
“Bitch-“ He hissed as his usual markings appeared. He lunged but Getou put a hand out to stop him while Yuta flew in front of G.Ma.
“Hm.” The old witch stashed her bottle away with smugness, “I suppose you are not the same spawn….just a different demon.”
“A lot is going on here…” You were feeling a bit overwhelmed. “So how is Yuji a…whatever and Sukuna is not?”
“I…I don’t know…” The woman sighed. “…If i would have known that my nightmares would be real… then I would have studied more…”
You shook your head, seeing as Nanami was still questioning his reality. “So we don’t know what these are, and we don’t truly know what Yuji is…great great, and great.”
“We have no other choice than. Into the dark hell pit we go huh…” Gojo whined.
You were already thinking of a plan, “We are going to have to get prepared to go… We need enchantments…resistant armour…a shit ton of elixirs and potions…and whatever you can give us to help.”
“Ah-“ G.Ma seemed shocked that you were willing to assist her- again. “Really?”
“Don’t get the wrong idea.” Getou scoffed, “We are doing this because it doesn’t seem like we have any other choice but best believe our pretty bird would not be able to convince us otherwise.”
“Right right right let me get you all the things you need!” The old lady was scurrying off.
Nanami looked toward Yuji but Yuta shook his head. “We must figure this out before we release him… I’m sorry.”
“I’ll be fine guys! Don’t worry about me.” Yuji smiled.
Nanami turned and stormed out of the room.
He probably had a lot weighing on his mind. From the chains and Yuji…
“Hang tight Yuji!”
You wanted to comfort Nanami…but there was something else you needed to do before you do.
You walked with your alphas and paused in the hallway.
“Guys…I need to talk to Choso…I don’t want something happening to him…what if he runs away again…before I can even…get information from him…can you all get the things we need while I go?”
“You aren’t going alone, you can forget about it.” Gojo stated.
Toji nodded, “I would feel better if one of us went with you.”
“I don’t think we have anything to worry about with the beta…but better safe than sorry.”
“I’m going with you and I don’t want to hear any lip.
“That’s fine.” You weren’t going to argue with Sukuna.
You didn’t care, you just wanted to talk to Choso before it was too late.
You had too many tasks that just fell upon your shoulders.
And this was supposed to be a happy reunion but nope. You were just tasked with more shit and confused with more mysteries!
Can you ever catch a break?!
