Yep. I love this one already.
Going in, I knew nothing other than people have been very passionately recommending this to me for YEARS. Even before my recent deep dive down the anime rabbit hole. When a series gets THAT much hype, it always makes me a little nervous going in. But so far, you all haven't led me astray a single time!I understand immediately why all wanted me to experience this story.The sounds, the music, the dialogue, the adventure, the fun, the journey.I'm already so into it!Aang is impossible not to love. He's so much fun and adventurous and silly. He feels like the monk version of Luffy 🤣 But under all of his childlike wonder, there's this deeper sadness and anxiety that surrounds him. Watching him discover what actually happened to his village while he was trapped in ice was heartbreaking. It feels like one moment he's laughing and playing and riding penguins, and the next he's carrying the weight of an entire civilization on his super young shoulders. A weight he mentions he never asked for...I also already adore Katara. Her kindness. Her warm energy. She feels like the emotional anchor of this group, while Sokka had me laughing the whole way. The two of them are such an awesome balance to Aang's energy.And then there's Zuko. I already find him super fascinating even tho we're only a few episodes in. I feel like under all of that anger and determination, there's glimpses of a boy desperate to prove something to his father. To himself. Right now, I'm standing at the beginning of what feels like a super long and fulfilling journey. When an intro starts us off by opening a map... I'm already in it for the long haul 😍 I think this adventure is going to be something really special.
