This movie made me feel so many emotions that I honestly find it really hard to explain all of them completely! There was something so beautiful and calming about it. The animation, the sound design, the ENTIRE soundtrack. It felt like it was moving through my soul 🤍

I know that sounds dramatic, but seriously! I could have watched Kiki fly over the ocean on her broom in zig zag pattern while listening to that music playing for another three hours and been perfectly happy. But even the quiet moments of this movie were so incredible too. Which I feel like I've never said before. Ever lol.It never felt like it was rushing to get somewhere or trying TOO hard to entertain me. It just was what it was. It let me exist in this beautiful little world with Kiki for a while. And reflect on what it feels like to go through growing pains and losing sparks. And under all the beauty and calmness, there was a really deep message here. A message about growing up and slowly losing touch with the person you thought you were. Kiki leaves home knowing who she is: A witch. A flying witch. She's excited about the world and about proving that she can make it on her own. But then life starts happening. Responsibilities. Work. And that feeling of loneliness really started to sink in. She compares herself to the other girls in town and judges herself way too hard. I think what really got me was how quick it all happened. Because that's like real life too, right?Sometimes burnout, depression, stress, or even just plain old LIFE can creep up on you. Then you wake up one day so disconnected from who you've become..Wait. Where did I go?Obviously, as a content creator lucky enough to do something I genuinely LOVE into my job, the entire idea of Kiki turning flying into work hit me HARD. Isn't it so strange and disheartening when your passions become responsibilities and bills and stress? When suddenly the things that brought you the most calm and joy in life come with deadlines, expectations, numbers, pressure, and this constant fear of what happens if you one day just... can't do it anymore. What happens when the thing that makes you feel alive starts to exhaust you? What happens when you lose your spark?I've definitely had so many moments where I feel so connected and grateful for what I do, but then somehow a season changes, or sometimes it's overnight.. I can feel completely burnt out and disconnected from it all. It's a struggle to hit record. It feels like someone else is looking at me on the camera. Then I spiral into a panic because I think I need to FORCE it. Force myself to get back to that version of who loved it so effortlessly. But I think that's why Ursula's conversation with Kiki might be one of my favorites in the entire movie. Sometimes you can create. Sometimes you just can't. Don't put so much pressure on it! Sometimes you have to stop trying so hard and go live your life instead. Rest. Experience something new. Trust that eventually your spark will reignite again.Maybe growing up isn't about becoming one final version of yourself.Maybe we're constantly losing and rediscovering pieces of ourselves as we go.And maybe losing your spark for a little doesn't mean you've lost it forever.I really, really loved this movie. I went in expecting a cute, cozy story about a girl in a bakery with a cat LOL. But instead I got personally attacked by Studio Ghibli with an existential crisis wrapped in beautiful animation and the most whimsical soundtrack imaginable ✨But I think the most comforting part of this entire movie...Is that it gave us all permission to accept those restful days fully. To get outside again. To take the road less traveled for today. To connect with others and live your life when the dark days come.Because you'll eventually fly again. You always do 🤍Thank you for your support on Patreon!Relax and enjoy 🍿🌿WANT TO WATCH IN DUB? USE LINK BELOW!SYNC ALONG LINK: https://youtu.be/O29nU59McHMI watched this on HBO Max
