Well... I think for the first time in my MCU journey I understand the comments/warnings LOLThis one STUNK 🤣
I don't think it was the absolute worst, but it definitely didn't click with me in the same way other MCU movies have. The story felt kind of wacky. Which I know sounds crazy to say about a movie where people shrink and fight in a Quantum Realm, but even by Ant-Man standards this one felt like it didn't want to let go of the chaos for a single moment. The humor didn't land well either. Which.. For Paul Rudd is difficult to do LOL. I definitely laughed a ton, but it was more AT the movie than with it 😭 The CGI was a lot to take in. I felt a bit overstimulated during 90% of this. But I guess honestly.. How else were they supposed to do it? They created an entire civilization living inside another world WITHIN our own. It felt like Dr. Seuss's The Lorax with a sprinkle of Star Wars bar aliens everywhere 🤣 Visually? It was pretty impressive. But my brain couldn't stop going brrrrrrrrrrr.One thing that frustrated me the most was Janet.You're telling me she NEVER said a word about what went on in the Quantum Realm?Like ma'am, this is important information that everyone should have had YEARS ago.The whole "I'll explain later" made me go a little crazy.Now... you all know me. I have to walk away with some positivity.So, I actually love Kang.I remembered him (after a bit of mind jogging.. I blame the overstimulation lol) and it had my brain going in circles trying to remember the conversation with his variant and Loki back in the end of Season 1. It's been over a year since I watched that so excuse my fuzziness! But after the movie ended, I immediately went back to rewatch that entire scene and connected some dots which was a ton of fun to think about.Kang is super fascinating to me.Not even because he's the strongest or the most intimidating villain.But because he completely breaks your brain with the possibilities he introduces.Infinite versions. Infinite timelines. Infinite outcomes. All while preaching it is 'meant to be this way' because he 'knows the end'.Every victory creates a problem somewhere else.. It's such an interesting concept!Then Scott's final narrative hit me: "Wait.. Did I actually stop the threat?" 😅Between Scott defeating this Kang and Sylvie killing 'He Who Remains' in Loki.. It feels like both of them definitely unknowingly opened the door to something worse.So much worse. So many Kangs!So while Quantumania was definitely not my favorite... I actually left it super interested in what's coming next! And I'll take that as a positive hahaSee you all in Guardians Vol 3 next!
