Hey guys! This tutorial will go over the different Redshift render-time procedurals. These procedurals let you call up files from disk directly without actually having to extract the data from the DCC itself. This is very powerful for keeping your scenes light and efficient along with allowing for mass instancing of objects.
In part one of this 2 part tutorial series I will be covering the manual installation process, and the Alembic procedural in Object & SOPs context. The Alembic Procedural works directly with the native Houdini Alembic SOPs but with some specific quirks and limitations. In the second part I will be going over the USD procedural, and how we can use BGEO and VDB files as render time procedurals. This is a confusing subject as there isn't much information on how to use the render time procedurals, but they are very powerful and can have a major impact in your render times.
