π± Smartphone Widget v2.0.0: Signal System, Weak Signal Effects, Custom Frames & More
v2.0.0 introduces a signal system that lets GMs control where phones work and where they don't. Scenes and regions can block or weaken signal, affecting messaging and phone calls in different ways. This update also adds custom frame themes with real-time preview and a handful of quality-of-life improvements.
π‘ Signal System
GMs can now set signal levels per scene or per region: Full, Weak, or No Signal.
Right-click a scene in the sidebar and select "Smartphone Widget Settings" to configure signal level.
No Signal disables all communications. Messages typed in a dead zone are queued locally with a clock icon and sent automatically when signal returns. Messages sent to a phone in a dead zone are stored but hidden until the recipient moves to a covered area β then they all arrive at once with staggered toast notifications.
Phone calls to a dead zone are auto-rejected after a brief delay, and a missed call record is saved for the recipient.
The status bar icon updates to reflect the current signal state: white for full, yellow blink for weak, red slashed for none.
Signal Dead Zone (V13): A Region Behavior type that lets you draw signal-affected areas directly on the map. Each region can be set to No Signal or Weak Signal with its own parameters.
πΆ Weak Signal Mode
An intermediate signal state with GM-configurable effects. All parameters are adjustable per scene and per region.
Message Delay: Messages take 2β5 seconds to send, showing a "sending..." indicator while in transit.
Random Send Failure: A configurable chance (default 30%) for messages to fail. Failed messages display a red icon and a "Retry" button.
Call Drop: Active calls can randomly disconnect at configurable intervals. The drop timer starts when the call is answered, not when it's placed. Both caller and recipient see a notification explaining what happened.
π‘ Satellite Phone
GMs can mark any phone as a satellite phone through the device management context menu. Satellite phones are immune to all signal blocking β scene-wide and region-based. Useful for special story items like military radios or emergency devices.
π¨ Custom Frame Themes
Create your own phone frames with uploaded images and color settings.
Upload a frame overlay image (transparent PNG recommended, base screen size 305Γ600px) that sits on top of the phone screen. Adjust frame padding and corner radius with sliders to fit the image.
Set clock color, icon color, and status bar background to match the frame.
All changes preview in real time as you adjust β save when it looks right.
Create multiple named themes and switch between them freely. Themes are stored as a shared library across all phones.
Export themes as ZIP packages (frame image included) and import them on other worlds or share with other GMs.
π’ Quoted Literals in Number Formats
Phone number and bank account formats now support quoted text that won't be randomized. Wrap fixed text in double quotes:
"ARASAKA"-NNN-NNN-NNN produces ARASAKA-482-193-756
"SEC"-NNNN produces SEC-8273
Existing formats without quotes continue to work exactly as before.
π§ Other Improvements
Bulk Link Phone Filter: A "With phone only" toggle in the bulk contact linker hides actors that don't have a phone yet.
Discord Link: A Discord server button in module settings for quick access to support and feedback.
π Bug Fixes
Fixed missing button styling on the "Select All" button in the bulk contact linker.
