[UPDATE - Augur: Sci-Fi 1.3.5] New ships, templates, and many QoL improvements
1 / 2
DESCRIPTION

Augur: Sci-Fi 1.3.5 and Augur: Nexus 1.1.9 are now available. This update adds several new ship models and templates, improves ship browsing and dossiers, expands moon support, adds optional sector visibility, and fixes a number of smaller workflow issues.

Please remember to update both Augur: Sci-Fi and Augur: Nexus

The main focus of this update is ships. This release adds several new ship models, especially civilian, utility, and frigate-scale vessels, giving the connected ship system from the last update a lot more variety. You now have more visual options for freighters, industrial ships, survey vessels, service craft, patrol craft, raiders, and security frigates, because a sci-fi campaign usually needs more than fighters and warships.

There are also new ship templates: Freighter, Industrial, Survey, and Security Frigate. Raider and Patrol Craft templates have been expanded with appropriate frigate models too. The goal is to make ship creation faster while still letting you edit the details afterward, and ship browsing is cleaner now with categories and filters for things like utility ships, frigates, and fighters.

There are also several quality-of-life improvements in this release:

Search in the browser should feel much better now. Some search fields were typing characters backward, which was extremely annoying. That is fixed, and People, Organizations, Ships, and Sites now use a more consistent search behavior.

NPCs and ships can now be linked to Foundry Actors more cleanly. There is a dedicated link management panel, unlink support, and a smaller linked Actor button in the dossier header instead of a full-width row.

Dossiers now have more control too. Default fields can be hidden or shown, and custom fields can be reordered. This should make dossiers easier to shape around the kind of information you actually use at the table.

Custom image browsing is also better. Ship images, NPC portraits, and site icons can browse subfolders now, with folders shown before image files and an up-folder control for moving back through the directory.

There are a few other useful changes:

Because Kurt is a lunatic, planets can now support up to 8 moons instead of 4.

Sector maps have optional visibility and fog controls.

New tokens placed on sectors with visibility enabled can receive default sight settings.

Custom star images update sector markers now.

Custom images for stars preserve their aspect ratio now.

Dossier and preview windows remember where you moved them during the session.

Pressing Cancel in a connection note dialog no longer writes "cancel" into the note field.

Please back up your worlds before updating, especially if you are using an active campaign world with generated sectors, systems, ships, and Nexus connections.

You can install the modules through Foundry by searching for Augur or Sci-Fi after linking your Patreon account.

Thank you all for the comments, suggestions, bug reports, and support. A lot of this update is cleanup and expansion around the previous ship release, and several of the fixes came directly from things people reported or asked for.Art credits: Ships by MSGDI: https://www.cgtrader.com/designers/msgamedevelopment
