Hello everyone,
Last week wasn’t quite as good as I wanted it to be. To be honest, my body’s been feeling a bit weird lately. My focus hasn’t really been there, and I’ve been more tired than usual. I know it's normal, I’m on week 9 of my cut, and it’s definitely showing. Thankfully I’m nearly at the end of it, so I’m just hanging on and doing my best until my energy comes back up.
Enough complaining though, let’s talk about what actually got done.
As usual, the start of the week was pretty rough with the usual balancing act between real life stuff and work. But once the weekend rolled around, things picked up a lot. Since I don’t have appointments or training on those days, I can really lock in, and it shows. Around 70% of this week’s output was done between Friday and Sunday.
I was hoping to fully finish this LEWD scene, but I ended up only reaching the final part. I’ve made 9 animations so far, and I only need to pose 3 more. I should be able to get around 6 to 8 angles out of those last 3 posed animations, which would bring the whole scene to about 15 to 17 animations total. Honestly, I think that’s pretty solid.
For comparison, the bigger LEWD scene I worked on a couple months ago ended up with more than 260 renders and 26 animations. I know most of you are probably very happy about that, but it also took me two full weeks and absolutely fried my brain.
So something closer to 120 renders and 15 animations feels a lot more like the kind of scope I want for regular LEWD scenes. Long story short, I should be done with this one around the middle of this week.
I’m especially happy with how my animations have been turning out lately. I’ve changed the way I approach animating a bit, still following Puggy’s directives, and I’m managing to get better results while working faster. I can make the movement feel more natural now, especially with acceleration, and it makes the loops look much better. I’m really looking forward to wrapping this one up.
I mentioned before that I usually have less energy at the start of the week because I train Monday through Friday and rest on weekends, but I’ve decided to take a full week off training because my body just doesn’t seem to be adapting well right now. Hopefully that helps me lock in properly and get this scene finished.
After that, I’ll be moving onto something else. I need to revisit a few scenes and add the transition animations I mentioned in the last devlog. My goal is to get all of that done this week so I can move on to the next part of this Halloween event.
Anyway, let’s get to the numbers:
Static renders: 2,309Animations: 80Story content: 35 scenes written (31,055 words)
That’s 111 renders and 9 animations since last week, and I’m still not counting the smaller animations that make up part of a bigger one since I’m still actively working on them.
I’m also correcting the number of scenes. It should’ve been 33 last week, but I forgot to update it properly, and with the two extra I wrote, that brings the total to 35.
I honestly think I undershot the size of this episode. The more I work on it, the more it feels like it’s grown beyond what I originally expected, especially with the newer additions to the ending. It was already a big episode, and now it’s even bigger.
I’m still hoping to stick to my intended release window of mid to late June, but we’ll see. Right now I’m still well ahead of my rendering rigs in terms of work ready to be processed, the queues have diminished but not by a lot; so at least output itself isn’t the issue for the moment.
At the end of the day, there’s only one thing to do, and that’s keep working as hard as I can.
Thanks again for the continued support, and also thanks to those of you who put up with my complete inability to manage a Discord server without either pinging everyone 5 times in a row, destroying bots, or by giving all the people the admin rights and power to accidentally nuke the whole server. That was a very close call, lol.
I’ll get back to it now. In the meantime, I hope you all have a great week.
