TraditionThere is a seasonal tradition among the lions of sending huntresses to learn from other houses as a way to improve the relations between them. As expected most of these factions look for the favor of the king and the members of his house. During this event the royal halls are unusually busy, filled with lions of different origins, with each of them trying to impress the king and gain honor for their houses. The huntresses are being judged by their showcase of skills alone, so the lion lords must make sure to send the best of their own if they want to protect their status. There are four great houses of the lions currently, and a lot more of the smaller ones, so this tradition can be really tiring for the king and his advisors.
RelaxationNowadays, the city of the lions have more than just lions. It's common to see the other folks of the savanna around, mostly selling their goods on the market or working for the lions, but some of them even run their own places in the city. One such place is owned by birds, who have seen a big opportunity in lions, especially those who have too much time on their hands. In times of peace the warriors does not have much to do besides their training, so they spend the rest of their day doing nothing and resting wherever they please. The birds aim to offer the best place of relaxation for these lions for a very affordable price. When a place like this gets popular, it's not uncommon for the wealthier lions from the great houses to show up and try the service for themselves, and offer the funding to keep the place running if they like the experience.
ArenaBack then, the arena used to be a place where lions entertained their audience with combat, but lions get bored easily with the same stuff all over again, so now this place offers a lot more variety in its showings, like competitions or displays of strength and skills. The main audience of these showings are mostly the huntresses on their day off, or on special occasions the king himself. Lately, even some of the other folks of the savanna got curious about these shows and all the new things they are coming up with. The hyenas of the region also took interest in participating in these competitions, as it seems a good opportunity to challange the lions in a controlled manner to test their strength, or maybe even learn something new from them.
MarketThe wetlands of the savanna produces all the fruits and vegetables the lions might need in their city. Even if their ancestors solely ate meat from the hunting grounds, now their diet is more sophisticated and includes a wide variety of produce. As they rule over the wetlands, the huntresses from the House of the River must inspect every merchant from the region to make sure their goods are of good quality before they can sell in the market of the city. There are a lot of strange fruits grown by the farmers lately, thanks to the traders from lands afar, so everything must be checked if it's safe for consumption.
