Ok, here's the thing. There's this sort of contest that the Mexican animation festival Pixelatl does with the help of Cartoon Network named “Ideatioon” where artists submit their pitch for a show or movie and the winner gets help with the funding of their pilot.
Last Sunday I found out the deadline had been expanded from that same day to next Wednesday. And I decided to take that as a sign to participate.
It's not my first time pitching something at this contest, and not even my first time creating a pitch bible for it in less than 2 weeks.
Before, me and a friend tried pitching El Aprendí Del Nahual, or The Nahual’s apprentice. Which was the original concept from where my short Film El Aprendíz del Chaman came from.

The first pitch bible for that, I cooked in like a week and the following year we tried again with an improved one. We were gonna try it again but then Covid came and stuff got weird.
I had mentioned before somewhere in this Patreon that I wanted to try and pitch The Whisperers. So I'm giving it a try.
Not that I expect to win. I mean, I hope I do and I’d really like to, but I'm not counting on it. Especially considering that many pitches have been cooking for years while this one is taking me a week. But it’d be nice.
No, more than for the chance of winning there's two other reasons why I am doing it.
1) To start preparing for next year. Because I feel like if I just leave it for next year, I'll probably be postponing it again and again until there's just a week left again.
And 2) To have a pitch ready even beyond the contest. Let me dream for a moment, who knows? Maybe I could pitch it somewhere else, do a crowdfund campaign, or even just have it for myself. See, making this is actually helping me organize my ideas a bit better. It's actually easier to imagine a Whisperers comic series. Who knows…?
I'm trying with the whisperers instead of the Worndown Children because somehow it's easier to imagine them in a Cartoon Network show. With the whisperers one can focus on the chasing ghosts and vampires.
On the other hand with the band, even though I haven't gone to Rated R yet, it's kind of harder for me to imagine them without being able to use drugs and have sex. Not impossible though.
Though all of this is me dreaming anyway.
I'm still working on the presentation’s text but I thought I could show here some of the art I've done so far. Unfortunately I won't have enough time to finish this as I'd like but I will be using some art I have already done, which isn't ideal because of the style change but it is helpful to show I already have some ideas for episodes.
